Hours later, a light tap came at the door of the small office that Ash was working in, followed by Jordan's voice.
"Ashworth! It's lunch time, you can take a break now!" With a sigh of relief, Ash stood up and stretched, having just finished making two piles of paperwork, like he was supposed to, before walking out, being met by the sight of Jordan holding a plate full of sandwiches. She glanced at Ash before putting the plate down on top of a stack of books, which wobbled slightly. "Good, you heard me. Now, do you have tea or coffee?" Ash hesitated slightly, before answering the random question.
"Tea, why?"
"We're taking a lunch break, silly! The famous Relic Seeker can't have her assistant going thirsty, can she?" And with that, Jordan grabbed the plate of sandwiches and sped off, presumably to the kitchen, while shouting "Head on up to the roof, that's where we're eating!" as she went.
"The roof?" Ash asked himself, looking around until he found a small staircase leading to the second floor, which was filled with bookcases, most of them crammed with extremely dusty books. "How many books does one small shop need?" Ash mumbled, before noticing a ladder that was bolted to the back wall. It appeared to be rather old, and the wood was worn away, most likely from years of use. With a quick tug on one of the rungs, Ash deemed the ladder safe enough for him to climb up, so he did so, pushing the trapdoor open when he reached the top of the ladder, before heaving himself up the rest of the way, sitting at the edge of the trapdoor for a few moments as he took in the sight before him.
The antique shop was taller than he originally thought, so he could easily see across the street and the sky above the larger complexes. "Wow..." he muttered, standing up and walking to the middle of the roof, where there stood a table and two chairs, one that matched the wood of the table and one that was a baby pink coloured plastic deck chair covered by a dirty, red blanket.
Just then, Ash heard Jordan's voice, so he turned to see Cari poking up out if the roof entrance, resting on Jordan's head, and seconds later, her reddish-brown eyes appeared, followed by the rest of her.
"Oh, good, you're up here already. The deck chair is yours, sorry. I don't have any other chairs that are intact."
"But why is there an old blanket covering part of it?"
"To make it more comfy, duh! Now, Cari, use Psychic to bring everything up!" Cari's eyes started to glow a faint pink, and in seconds the large plate of sandwiches from earlier appeared, along with a couple of mugs and a kettle that had steam coming out of the spout. Everything landed on the table with a light thud, and Jordan sat down before speaking. "Since we're up here, wanna hear my theory? It's a good one, promise."
