Jolting awake by the sound of my phone ringing, I quickly scrambled around the bed in search for my phone. Pressing the answer button I incoherently mumbled a few unsure words. "Uhm he-hello? Who's this?". At the other end of the phone I got a deep husky voice reply. "Hey.." I knew I heard this voice before. "Sorry to startle you, I just thought I would apologise for the last day". By the tone of his voice, he sounded genuine and sincere about the mistake that happened. "It's okay, uh who are you?" My voice rang. "Grey, I'm Blake Grey, and you are?" He spoke strongly. "Done now" I replied before I hung up. Before I could move I heard Sandra laugh from the hallway. "I love how you make them chase after you, always got to make a man want more". Rolling my eyes at her, I got up and began to laugh while eventually walking past her and down the stairs.

"That will be $17.82 please" I said tiredly while simultaneously putting out my hand for the money. Giving a slight smile as they walked away, I turned to the coffee machine to make their coffee. When ready I began to make my way down to where they were seated. Once I had reached the counter again, I noticed the same guy before. Tall, God-like features, and a beautiful aroma that would make anyone weak. Biting my tongue I said what I would say to most customers. "What can I get for you today". "Coffee with sugar and skimmed milk, thanks". Placing the order in the pile like usual routine. I went to the next customer, repeating the same words that was basically my only routine. I swear I would have dreams about those words 'what can I get for you today'.

The rest of the day ticked on by slowly. Seconds seemed to feel like hours. The warm smell of coffee growing even more as the sun traveled to the west to set until the stars were boring into the deep night sky. Placing the chairs on the table, while cleaning the tables. My train of thoughts were interrupted by the sound of flesh and bones hitting the cold pane of glass. Startled, I looked up a little shook, before frowning. Pointing to the sign saying 'closed', I shrugged my shoulders before going back to cleaning up the coffee shop as I was the only one left. "Come on, please I only want a coffee to go". I continued to ignore them, and when I say them.. I mean Blake. "Please". Shaking my head I walked over to the door. "You should have come here earlier. I'm sorry I can't". Looking fed up he paced back and forth, before a big deep rumble of thunder hit and a rapid beat of knocks against the door.
I gave in.

After giving him his coffee-to-go, we began to talk while the thunder storm rolled on.
Now this wasn't your everyday ordinary conversation, it was a deep conversation. One that I haven't had with anyone since my brother died with my now 'ex'. It finally felt nice to kinda let go of some of the heavy baggage I was carrying. After he had finished his coffee he got up and thanked me. Dazed by his beauty even at night in the dim light, I didn't hear him speak until he was going to open the door. "WAit" I said abruptly, while running towards the door with my hand out to grab his arm. "You can't go out in the storm" I said confused and determined the make him stay. "You were going to not even let me in about.." he trailed off while taking a glance at his watch. "Two and a half hours ago. I think it's best if I let u finish up here. It's already 11:30". Nodding my head I let him go before locking the door behind him. I gave a small wave before he ran across the street.

Closing the door of my loft with my foot and placing my keys on the table, I let my bag fall from my shoulder. Finally making it into the kitchen, I grab the box of cigarettes and light one. Letting the dark aroma of nicotine and tobacco surround me I check my phone in the slight hope of a message from Blake. Disappointed, I lock my phone and make my way into the sitting room to only be greeted by Sandra. "You're home late, you ok?" She said with a warm comforting smile. Nodding my head I sit down beside her and give her a hug as I needed one. After countless hours that slipped by without our recognition I finally ask her a question which may conclude to the 'butterfly effect'.
"Is is bad that I'm waiting for someone to text me"
After a few moments of dead silence in the cool hours of 5am, where the sun begins to slightly brighten up the early November morning skies.
"No, it just means you're slowly falling for someone, you just don't know it yet"
