Christmas had come just as quickly as it went, and Spring was effortlessly blooming in all four corners of New York. Planting a spring in peoples step (No pun intended).
Skies above, that were once full of tumultuous, dark, ragged clouds, were now kissed delicately by the sun. Greeted by the unblemished azure blue backdrop. And the air that was once coldly touched by frost and bitter snows arrival, had now long been gone.
Work was work. Customers were customers. And the money helped pay for my college tuition. This Autumn I was graduating, and oh my god was I excited.
Blake had already finished his college years, and was now living his life to fullest. He wished to explore the scorching hot outback of Australia and he did just that with his friends.
His flight was supposed to land in JFK a few days ago but due to high and strong turbulence that disrupted many flights from taking off into the unknown skies. His flight was inevitably. cancelled.
Nights without any phone calls or text messages were undoubtedly and cruelly hard to cope with.
The old desk lamp, which paint was now slowly pealing off, had been an essential thing to keep my wrestles and explainable alive mind from wondering into unknown depths of my brain.
Ideas and worries struck and stabbed into my mind within the cool hours of those Spring mornings which almost felt like half a lifetime. All the what if's, cruelly crept into my mind. Poisoning my thoughts and corrupting my brain with no one to offer a bit of help.
The devil himself would only merely laugh if he saw my suffering.
However, all the wrestles nights and the unceasing thoughts would be finally brought to a halt and hopefully a final end.
Blake's flight was soon to be bound to the unnaturally dry and cracked pavement of the runway this evening. He did wish his fight would have been here sooner, so we could have been reunited quicker.
Sadly the unpromising weather had other plans in mind, for those soulmates that were parted by distance for just a few more unwanted days.

Placing the freshly washed strawberries within the civvies before automatically shaking them, only to wring out the excess water that was noticeably dripping from their coats. Sandra was helping me prepare some fruit salads for when Blake decided to show up from his adventures from down under.**
There in front of us, lay two large plastic bowls of mixed fruits. One that contained exotic and tropical fruit, the other with your every day fruit. Beside them lay some granola, some seeds, yogurt and some porridge, just in case he wanted a proper breakfast that evening. Within the fridge lay some cool drinks, as well as a variety of foods to chose from, if he wished.
Sandra and I always prepared at least a weeks worth of food every week, so we could easily take what we wanted, when we wanted.
The faint sound of a key rattling and the well known sound of a suitcase being wheeled against the grit that lay upon the cracked pavement, began to come into my range of hearing.
