Dedication to arcticstars for an amazing book, very funny I have to say and still well written!
Before I knew it he’s pulled me up with the scruff of the neck, our faces were almost touching. I gulped, trying to push myself back.
“Excuse me?” I felt his breath on my face, I didn’t really like it either.
“I…”
“Let me just ask you one thing Ayzel, are you going to take your jumper off or will I have to do it for you?” I stared at him, anything to stay away from him.
“I’ll take it off.” I whispered I’d given up. The stupid thing was giving me a headache.
“And?” I blinked. Now what? Please don’t tell me he was waiting for me to apologize. I gulped, uncomfortable like this, why couldn’t he just stop breathing already?
“Sorry…”
“Sorry what?” I stopped myself from driving my knuckles into his face; it wouldn’t do me much good that way anyway. I looked away. “Sorry Xayaan.” My voice was low, if we hadn’t been inches away from each other he wouldn’t have heard me. After a moment of silence he nodded and let go, my head fell back onto the pillow. I’d said sorry to him, somehow I was going to take it back and each second I stayed with him was only making me hate him more. Prince Xayaan lay back down, putting his head back behind his head and staring up at the ceiling. I’ sat there awkwardly, hoping he was regretting marrying me, after a minute I sighed and started pulling my jumper off as quickly as I could. I wanted to turn around before he looked my way, hopefully the darkness of the room would do the rest.
The Prince glanced at me; I could feel his eyes boring at the back off my head drilling two holes into it. I stared at the wall, my eyes starting to prickle once again. It wasn’t fair.
“There are duvets for a reason.” He told me, I ignored him, squeezing my eyes shut and trying to ignore his very presence in this room. Hopefully this would make him shut up. Instead I felt him put the blankets on top of me. I didn’t move. There were already goose bumps on my bare arms; I was planning on wearing the jumper soon anyway. There was a sigh from behind me.
“Are you still cold?” I didn’t answer. There was a shuffle from behind me. “Ayzel.” The voice was closer, I frowned, he wasn’t allowed to cross the line in the bed. He placed his hands on my arms and shook me; I wrenched myself away earning another sharp intake of breath from him. “Ayzel, look at me when I’m talking to you.” The hint of frustration in his voice was growing, I still ignored him, he couldn’t say anything to this could he? “Fine then as you wish.” I blinked, staring at his comment. From behind me I felt someone pulling me back and turning me the other way, a squeak left my mouth; I started trying to push myself back away from him. How dare he? How bloody dare he? Words couldn’t not describe the anger I felt right now. The Prince stared at me, raising his eyebrow.
“What, I think I’d rather look at your face then the back of your head.”
“Well, I only sleep on my right so I need to sleep. In other words…” I tried to shrug him away.
“I don’t think so…” The Prince mumbled, staring at me. His hand reached forward to brush away my fringe, my head lurched back. I really needed to get out of here right now, a look of annoyance flashed on the Prince’s face which I happily chose to ignore. That’s until I felt a hand pushing my head back forward, his hand got tangled into my hair
I stiffened up. “Relax…” The Prince sighed, his eyes starting to droop now. Relax? You have got to be kidding me right? How could I relax in the position I’m in right now.
