Exhausted and feeling defeated after working overtime two weeks in a row, Lauren internally debated whether or not to just jump into bed or hop on the internet and aimlessly browse. Remembering that she needed to do some housing research before her big move to London, she decided to get online after all. The longer she put it off, the more stressed out she would get. Sitting up against the headboard of her bed, she opened her laptop on her lap and signed on. Google had become her closest friend lately. Lauren's boss had offered her a once-in-a-lifetime job opportunity with his company but she would have to move across the globe. Lauren had never set foot outside of the US. She didn't know much about London other than what she'd seen in movies or read about in books. The job itself would be in London, though she had hoped to be able to find something financially suitable a few miles outside of town. So, once again, Lauren Googled for homes or apartments for rent outside of London.

Producing the same results as usual, she decided to check her email to see if any landlords had emailed her back about available housing. Her inbox showed no new messages. With a defeated sigh, she nearly closed the laptop all the way before hearing the familiar 'ding' of a new notification. Pulling the top back up, she discovered a new message after all. Realizing it was from one of the landlords she had emailed last week, she sat up straight as she clicked on the message.

'Hello Dear Lauren!

I'm so thrilled that you're interested in my property. To answer your question; yes, it comes fully furnished. I would love to be able to show you around as well as London, seeing as you're a first timer.'

The friendliness of the sender caught her off guard and made her smile. The price of the 2 bedroom apartment was not as bad as she was expecting. The landlord had also included a bunch of photos of the different rooms and the outside of the apartment. It looked simply charming and adorable. All of a sudden she was even more excited for this new adventure she would soon be going on.

'I hope to hear back from you soon,' the email continued, 'Sincerely, Hopefully Your Future Landlord, TWH.'

Immediately she messaged him back letting him know that she was definitely interested and would make arrangements as soon as she could.

'Well, that's that,' Lauren thought to herself.

The sudden 'ding' of yet another message surprised her, again. He must still be online. She clicked on the message and saw she was correct.

'Brilliant! I really look forward to it. My name is Thomas and please don't hesitate to contact me for any questions or concerns you may have.

TWH'

He's either the nicest guy in the world or really wants someone to rent his property.

Lauren stepped out of the cab and onto the curb in front of her new home. Armed with just her suitcase and laptop, her heart beat out of her chest. She'd never done anything like this before. This was the first time she'd ever been outside of the United States. She'd never been on a plane before today, either. Adventures and new beginnings were not her thing. But there she was, standing in front of her new home without ever having stepped a foot inside.

The two story building was quaint and charming. Each window had flower boxes on display, filled with daisies stretching towards the sun. Ivy ran up along the building, as if protecting it or perhaps claiming it.

Lauren glanced at her phone to check the time. She was early but the landlord would be here soon to sign paper work and hand over the key. She sat down on the front steps to wait.

It wasn't long before another cab pulled over to the curb in front of Lauren. She watched as a pair of long legs stepped out and strolled over to where she sat.
