Harry POV:
I couldn't believe it! She said yes! I'm going to be a father! I looked over at Mary while we were in the elevator. She was crying.
"Mary, whats wrong?" I asked her.
"Nothing is wrong. I am just so happy she said yes. You see, there have been many couples that have wanted to adopt her, but when they tried talking to her she wouldn't even talk to them. She took one look at them and turned back to the window. You are the first person she has connected with or even talked to. When she saw you, I saw how scared she was. It was because she had a connection and she actually had an emotion on her face." Mary said.
I was shocked. She wouldn't even talk to anyone else? What happened to her. Why was my little girl so broken?
"What happened to her?" I asked.
"When she was in third grade her parents got divorced. It was a nasty divorce. Her family fought so much and put the kids in the middle." she said
"So she had sibling?" I asked.
"Yes. I don't know what happened to them? All I was told about was the divorce. I don't even know what happened that she ended up here. I don't know where her parents are or why she didn't stay with relatives when she was taken away form them? I have tried to ask her but she shuts everyone out." Mary told me. We got down to the front desk and Mary opened a drawer and took out some papers. She opened another drawer and took out a folder.
"We always have a set of papers ready for each kid that we have. Otherwise it would take us forever to type them up. Here is a folder of her medical record. Usually we have a folder with information on there past but there wasn't one given to us when she arrived. And personally I think it would be better to find out from her when she is ready. It creates a better relationship." She said. She handed me the folder and set out the paper and a pen that I will have to sign.
"Now before she comes down here there is something I would like to tell you." she said.
"Ok." I replied.
"I know who you are Harry. I know that your in a world famous boy band. I was really nervous when you came in hear. That kind of life can be hard on a child. But now I am so glad that it is you that walked through that door. I can see how much you already care about her. Anyone can see how bad she has been hurt. She deserves to have a good life and a good future. I know that you can give that to her." She told me.
I was surprised that she knew who I was. I hadn't told her my last name at all.
"I plan to give her everything she deserves, and let me tell you, that girl deserves more than the world." I told her with a smile that I couldn't hide. I heard the elevator ding and looked to see Alysa step out of it. She walked over to us with just a back pack. That was all she had?
"Ok. Well Harry I marked the spots you need to sign and there's one spot I need Alysa to sign. I also need to know if you plan to change her last name?" Mary asked us. I started to sign the papers and then turned to Alysa when I was finished.
"Do you want to change your name?" I asked her.
"Yes. I c can't h have that n name anym more." She said. She was shaking as she said it. what happened that she doesn't even want her own name anymore? I watched as Alysa signed the one spot she needed to an grinned knowing she was now mine.
"Ok. Congratulations Alysa Styles. You guys are free to leave." Mary said. I looked at Alysa to see that she looked nervous. She walked over to me and I held my hand out to her. She didn't take it so I started to walk out with her following at my side.
