Chapter Four (part 2)

Sorry for the delay this chapter was turning out longer than intended. In fact part 3 is in the works. There were many songs to choose for this chapter but only one stuck out, Demi Lovato Heart by Heart. There's a picture of Emily Browning playing as Skylar too. Nikita

Everything went as planned. First Blake and I had to hide downstairs. During the wait I had Blake set up candle lanterns. I don't think he enjoyed it as much as I did. Blake wasn't much of a social person either.

Jamie did arrive as planned. His duty was just to keep Sean busy and unaware of what really was going on. School had just ended and summer vacation began. We were throwing his surprise birthday party early or it wouldn't be much of a surprise.

Around the afternoon most decorations were put up. My dear friends had showed up eager to make the backyard shimmer with lights. Shane, Mandy, and Jenna may seem like those traditional follows of the popular girl. Once again those assumptions would be wrong.

Shane has short dark hair with sharp brown eyes. Those eyes are the main reason she was dangerously sharp. No detail went by unnoticed. She was fixing a couple of tables that someone didn't bother putting together right. Mostly she was the quiet and observant one.

Mandy was a soft brown eyed girl with light brown highlights in her hair did a lot of charity work at the animal hospital. Her brown highlight hair was not hard to miss at the moment. I mean her hair almost down to her knees and she was quick. I believe she was running over to where Jenna was.

Jenna was a strawberry blonde with bright brown eyes. She wears contacts by the way. The sunniest person I ever met honestly. Though her personality did clash with Shane's. Mandy was the mediator which she was doing now. Jenna was being careless and tripped over some wires getting tangled in them also taking Shane to ground with her.

Well guys they're all single and good luck.

Even Skylar, Blake's cousin, stopped by to help out. I had only met her once or twice. Having more help with still so much do made me so happy. I made a beeline for her when came to a full halt in the driveway. She flipped out on me.

"Whoa whoa whoa! Barbie," I scrunched my nose at the nickname in disapproval, "I hope you have no plans in doing a makeover on me!" Her hands stayed in the air.

With my stiletto's versus her height, "Why would I do that?" I said nicely as possible. Honestly you'd think I carried a butcher knife behind my back or something. "You're a beautiful girl as you are."

I don't think she really believed me.

It wasn't like this would be the first time someone had the wrong idea about me. I just sighed mentally but kept a smile on my face. "Just help Blake finish putting the lanterns up."

Her mouth opened, closed, opened again. Maybe I wasn't hiding my-

"Nikki," I turned to the one woman that was allowed to use that nickname on me. Sean's mom said I looked a lot like the actress Nikki Reed. "Thank you so much for all your hard work. Sean will appreciate this."

"Not likely because he doesn't pay that much attention," I said not too rudely, "he should still have a good time I hope."

Sean's mom was dressed up to run errands. Meaning she dressed to her best in three inch heels, pencil skirt, and a cameo. It wasn't that hot today.

"Anyways it's my turn to keep my son busy," she was saying whist checking through her purse to make sure everything was accounted for, "Julie? Julie? I'm getting in the car now."
