Chapter Four
It took me a couple of seconds to comprehend what was happening. What Austin was doing left me completely frozen. I was too shock to do anything. Austin Bailey Matthew, my best friend and the guy whom I've like for the past four year, was kissing me.
He was about to pull away after a few moments. Before he could pull away, I started to kiss him back. Both him and myself were shocked. After a few seconds, we both slowly relaxed. I could feel Austin smiling into the kiss. Once I was completely over the shock, I wrapped my arms around his neck. Almost immediately after I did that, I could feel Austin's hand on my back, and within seconds, he managed to pull me onto his lap. I'm certain that after I was pulled onto Austin's lap, the little kiss became a heated make out session.
"Maybe I should keep more secrets from you," I joked after me pulled away from the kiss.
Austin laughed at my remark. He's the type of person who has a contagious laugh, whenever he laughs, everyone around him would end up laughing with him and would not stop laughing for a couple of minutes. I'm no exception to his contagious laugh and ended up laughing with him. While we were, both laughing our ass off, Austin somehow lost his balance and fell off the love seat to the ground.
Since I was on his lap, I also became a victim of the fall and ended up landing on top on him. I was still laughing at this point but ended stopping after I realised that Austin was staring at my face. My hair was covering both our faces from the rest of the room, so the only thing that both of us could see was our faces.
"You like me? I'm the perfect guy that you were talking about?" he questions me with a small smirk on his face.
I didn't answer him straight away. I just smiled at him and went on to kiss him for a second time. This time, the kiss was slightly more intense (you know, since I was on top of him). In some ways, it was more passionate. I could feel all the emotions that we wanted to convey to each other in the kiss.
"I take that as a yes then," he said with a smile as soon as we pulled away from the kiss.

"When did you start liking me?" I asked Austin with playing with his fingers.
After that second kiss, we even up just cuddling on the floor and talking. We talked like as if nothing happened in the pass few minutes. Like we were only best friends. It was kind of comforting to me; having someone that I care so much about close to me, making me feel like there's only the two of us in this world.
"I don't really remember," he answered my question. "Probably since that one time that you gave your ice cream to the crying kid after you saw someone took his football away," he added.
Oh my god. I remember that kid, and that ice cream. It was a long time ago. That incident probably happened when we were about six or seven. How is a kid that young capable of knowing what he was feeling? Why didn't he tell me earlier? If he liked me for that long, why did he date so many girls before this?
"That long?" only those two words managed to come out of my mouth even though there were many questions that I wanted to ask him.
"Yes, and before you ask, yes we were only kids when that happened but I only knew what that feeling was when were about nine or ten. I didn't tell you earlier because I couldn't find the perfect time to do so. Lastly, I wasn't in any relationship with all those girls, I only went on dates with them because THEY asked me out. I feel very guilty for saying 'no' in their faces that's why I always agreed to going on a date with them," he answered not only the question that I asked him verbally but also the questions I asked mentally.
"How-"
"How did I know that you were going to ask those questions?" Austin cut me off as soon as I said the first word of my sentence; to my surprise, what he said was exactly what I wanted to ask him.
I was left speechless. I probably had a pretty confused face on my face. Austin must have found my reaction funny because I could see him trying to hold in his laughter.
"Mads, you don't have to be all surprise. I've been best friends with you since we were little kids. I know the way you think. You're actually a very predictable person," he answered me, his famous smirk plastered on his face while he was saying it.
"I'm your best friend?" I asked him while sitting up straight and moving away from him slightly.
He looked very confused by my actions and words. It's a rare sight to see Austin with a confused face since he always looks confident.
"Can best friends do this?" I teased him by sitting back onto his lap and starting kissing his neck.
"Or this?" I teased him further, moving my lips from his neck to his chin. "Or this?" I continued the teasing, this time kissing the corners of his lips, almost missing his lips completely.
After my last 'move', Austin quickly pulled me closer to his body (if that was even possible), and move his face closer to my face.
"It's not nice to tease people like that Madison," he whispered into my ear.
Since we were already as close as any two-human being could get, he pulled me down with me. I was lying down on him for the second time that day, this time it was completely intentional on Austin's part.
"You are my best friend," he said to me with all seriousness on his face and in his eyes. "and you're also my girlfriend," he added.
"Is that your way of asking me out?" I giggled at his actions.
"Nope," he said, popping out the 'p'. "It's my way of telling you that you're mine and only mine." He finished his statement.
"Yes, I'll be your girlfriend," I answered him while silently swooning over what he said a few seconds ago.
"See, I was right. I was telling you that you are my girlfriend," his famous smirk came back when he said that.
"Whatever you say," after I said that, I quickly kissed him so he couldn't say anything else.
Not for long, we pulled away and he said, "Don't you dare whatever me. I'll whatever you back young lady."
Oh this was going to be a long day.
