I've heard people say that when you die,you see a bright light with clouds and angels coming to get you.
That is a damn lie, because I'm almost certain that I'm dying and I see no bright light or angels.
I am cognizant, however, of the fact that I am engaged in a continuous fall into nothingness.
Darkness, silence and loneliness.
Well I'd rather be dead and lonely, than alive and with Demetri, so I'm totally fine with this arrangement.
Suddenly the darkness became shades of gray, constantly lightening until everything around me was white.
Okay then, maybe they weren't lying.
"Archer." A raspy voice hissed, and I rapidly spun around. There is no one there.
"Archer." The voice said it sounds feminine. It's familiar but I can't place it, that is until a bright orange dress appeared out of thin air.
The dress was long, bearing skinny, almost skeletal arms from the sleeves. Slim bony fingers formed and reached out in my direction as the cranium of the skeletal formed on the body.
I stepped back a few times. The reality that I'm actually dead bitch slapped me as I recognized that I will be like that skeleton in a little while.
I screamed and turned to run but then realized there is nowhere to go.
"You can't run from me Archer, I'll always find you little girl." The skeleton said behind me.
Holy shit!!!! I committed suicide to get away from Demetri and now I'm being haunted by a skeleton in the after life. Well at least it hasn't hurt me as yet, unlike Demetri.
Must I have no peace?
"What do you want?" I asked finally facing up to the skeleton.
Might as well, I have nowhere to run anyway.
"Do you know what you have done?" It said, well it sounds like a she and it's wearing a dress so it should be a woman.
Unless.........it's a drag queen. It doesn't matter anyway, still a she, no biggie.
"What did I do?" I asked squinting my eyes in confusion, well I did kill myself but that's kind of obvious.
"Your prince will never let you go Archer." The voice said and something snapped into place, I know who it is. "You do not have the luxury of death."
"Madam Leveau." I said in recognition. She always calls Demetri 'Your Prince's when he is mentioned in our conversation. Not that we've had many conversations.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, shocked.
Wait a second! If I'm dead and she's here is she dead too?
"I'm not dead and neither are you?" She replied. I said that out loud.
"So where am i?"
"You're in between life and death, your prince is trying to bring you back to life but you're fighting him."
"I'm not doing anything." I said defensively. "And bring me back with what? He may be powerful but he's not a damn god, he can't breathe life into someone."
"No, he can't, but he can heal you with his blood since you weren't dead when he started giving it to you." She said moving closer to me. "You're necklace is almost finished."
"I don't want it anymore, I want to stay here." I said desperately
"You can't stay here, you'll either die or you'll go back."
