Sam's Beast's POV

“So what are we going to do about school?” a werewolf asks.

“We’re going to school, of course! What kind of question is that?” another one argues.

The first werewolf scowls at the other. “I know that, Mar. What about her?” she asks, pointing at me.

I glare at their direction which they easily ignore.

The other werewolf – Marcy – sighs heavily. “I don’t know, Raven… I need to talk to Marc about this since he’s the temporary leader of Sam’s coven.”

I have been a captive for five long days. Now that I’m allowed to go outside, they hire two freaking bodyguards to follow me around just in case if I try to escape. It would be either Marcy and Raven or Jacques and Marc. The only person who tries to talk to me is Marcy and Jacques.

Raven would occasionally cast me glares whenever Marcy is not looking. She even called Marcy ‘Luna’ which confuses me.

Since they are busy arguing, this is my only chance to escape. Silently, I sneak away without getting noticed. I can hear them from a distance cursing, “Shit! We lost her!”

I follow my instincts through the woods. A part of me urges to go back but I’m not taking any chances. The inner demon in me hisses at whoever is following me.

The man puts his hands up, indicating surrender. “I come in peace, sweetheart.”

If he thinks I’m stupid enough to fall for his tricks, he’s dead wrong! I snarl at him when he takes a step towards me.

“I won’t turn you in… Yet. You do look rather thirsty so I hope you don’t mind if I join you,” the stranger says.

Yes, I do mind, now get lost!

Unfortunately, it’s best if I keep my mouth shut. I did slip five days ago because of my burning thirst. I still regret it. That werewolf can never stop asking me to ‘say something’ everyday and it is annoying me.

I shrug and flee towards the human scent. My throat burns and my inner demon is getting excited.

‘No!’

I stop in my tracks as soon as I hear that voice. It is echoing in my mind. The stranger gives me a weird look but did not comment on anything. He just looks bored.

‘Don’t you dare!’

That voice again. I look around to find the owner of the voice.

“What’s wrong, sweetheart?” the guy asks.

I shake my head. Maybe I’m just insane. I look around to see a human stumbling in the woods. He looks lost and his eyes are red and puffy. I hear him say something about werewolves and vampires.

His blood. It’s just too good to be ignored.

The guy quickly steps in front of me, protecting the human from me.

“Sam, get away from him,” the guy orders.

I ignore him, looking at the lost human.

Before I know what I’m doing, I push the guy off my way and pounce on my human prey.

“George, run! Hide!” the guy yells, pushing me to the ground.

The human looks shocked when he looks at me. “Sam?” he whispers. “You’re a vampire too?”

I snarl at him, trying to get the guy off me.

“Jacques!” the guy yells.

‘Beast, stop what you’re doing!’ The same voice commands which I easily ignore.
