Just like everyday, I put on my cloak and drink a sip of the scentless liquid.
'Let's go!' Sam says excitedly in my head.
Without complaining, I use my reborn speed to make it to the werewolves' main house. I have been spying on Marcy and her pack for days now. They have been sending werewolves out to look for Sam.
Sam's coven, on the other hand, is in a crisis. Marc has absolutely no idea how to control the situation, which pisses Sam off.
Sam wanted to personally kick Marc's ass for not doing anything. Fortunately, I cage Sam in my head or else she would have blown our cover.
Sam and I managed to track down Vincent. He and his coven are secretly living in Italy, where his family was from. We plan to go to Italy tomorrow so today, we are going to check if everyone is alright.
'There she is!' Sam exclaims in my head when Marcy is in her red wolf form, wandering aimlessly in the woods.
'What the hell is she doing?!' I growl, following her without getting noticed.
Marcy has been out by herself many times, almost as if looking for something.
'She is looking for us, Bow,' Sam says, watching her every move.
'No. She is looking for you,' I correct her.
Marcy suddenly turns around, growling at us. Her eyes darken dangerously and her stance is stiff.
For a second, I thought she would recognize us but my hood is on and Marcy can't see or smell us.
She takes a step towards us, almost to take a closer look.
I stand still in shock as Sam is speechless.
We have to get out of here before she recognize us, I think to myself.
It is too late. Marcy has a shocked face on when she finally recognizes her twin.
I mean, her twin's body.
Marcy-wolf lets out a whimper and runs towards us, toppling us to the ground.
She suddenly licks my face countless times, making me grimace.
'Let me take over,' Sam says.
I can't seem to concentrate on Sam when I push Marcy off me and hiss at her in warning.
Instincts are controlling me now.
Marcy's head drop and her tail lowers.
She sees my red eyes glowing brightly without any grey in them.
"Lookie here, the Luna found her long lost twin," an unfamiliar voice says.
Marcy immediately stands in front of me, protecting me from whoever it was.
I recognize that voice; it belongs to one of Vincent's coven members. There is another vampire next to him.
Sam and I growl at them, showing my fangs at two of them.
Sam gasps and the other vampire's eyes widen.
"Beloved," he whispers.
Sam is crying in joy in my head. Since I'm a reborn, I don't feel any love for him like Sam does. Reborns are not meant to have Beloveds.
Marcy's wolf head snaps at me in shock.
Sam's beloved then shakes his head. "My Beloved is now a beast and an enemy. I reject my soulmate as I am only loyal to Vincent Retelli," he announces.
Sam is sobbing heavily in my head. It hits me now: Sam is rejected by her Beloved.
A snarl escapes Marcy as she jumps at Sam's ex-beloved. He does not fight back, as if he is defeated.
His friend growls at Marcy, almost ripping her throat. I push him off her and the both of us land gracefully on the ground.
Marcy's whine distracts me. I turn to see that Sam's ex-beloved managed to pin her.
The vampire I was fighting takes advantage of my distraction and claws my face, leaving a long scar.
I hiss at him, using my reborn strength to surprise him and finish him off.
I turn to help Marcy when I see Sam's ex-beloved laying dead and Marcy on the ground, panting heavily in exhaustion.
The sight of Sam's beloved dead makes Sam cries even louder in my head. Her grief does not affect me though since I'm an emotionless monster.
Marcy stares at my face.
My scar, to be exact.
Marcy's eyes closes slowly. I quickly comes to her aid and sighs when her wounds are not so serious. She just needs some rest.
Her red wolf body trembles slightly before they rearrange themselves into a human body.
I carry her and run to the werewolves' main house. No one is in her room so I quietly sneak her in and tuck her under her blanket.
I look around to see a small piece of blank paper and a pen.
Sam is still mourning over her dead beloved so now I need to leave a note for her twin.
I write down: Cherish your Beloved and never reject him like ours did to us. -Beast
I can't put my name on it so it's best if she knows that there are two of us in one body.
I leave the note nearby where she can see it when she wakes up.
Hopefully, she would move on. And so would Sam.
