I woke up slowly in Jake and I's room. My head was killing me and I felt like something was wrong, although I couldn't quite put my finger on it...
"Sam" my wolf growled as my eyes landed on a piece of paper from across the room.
I slowly walked over to the small table and pick up the note. It read: Cherish your Beloved and never reject him like ours did to us. -Beast
Beast? I thought to myself. This must've been the one inside Sam, but that beast was lacking emotions, and she clearly was showing some here. Plus, why didn't she kill me?
Sam's beast is now as much a part of her as your wolf is a part of you.
The words of my father from my dream a few weeks back rung in my head. I still was trying to decide weather or not my mind was just making things up in that dream to make me feel better, or if it was real.
No matter how many times I told myself I was crazy, it still felt real.
It had to be real.
I brought the paper up to my nose and inhaled as deeply as I could. I remember noticing during the run-in with Sam and the other two vampires that she hadn't had a scent, but if I was lucky she might have worn off some of the spell she had used to hide her scent by the time she wrote this note.
I smelled nothing but the scent of Jake and I that lingered around the room, so I decided to go to a different room.
Carefully carrying the note, I went to one of the empty rooms in the pack house. Although the room still smelled strong of wolves, there wasn't a prominent smell of just a certain wolf, so hopefully that would help.
I brought the note up to my nose again and took another good wiff of the paper's smell and let out a soft whimper. Now, the note smelled like me. I was too late, I had been around the note too long.
I had lost my chance of finding my sister.
"The cell." My wolf mumbled in my mind. She had been extremely quiet lately, she thought this was all her fault for not realizing Sam's absence sooner when Sam had escaped.
But now she was a genius. The cell was where Sam had stayed for months with no other creatures staying in there, other than when one of us would visit.
The cell would be reaking with Sam's scent.
I suddenly felt hopeful and I could feel my wolf perking up with hope too. She was giddy right now, but so was I.
"Marc!" I yelled as I took off running to find him.
"Marc I think I know how we can find Sam!" I yelled as I turned a corner.
Suddenly I felt all my happiness, drain out of me and my heart stopped beating for a second from the shock of what I was seeing in front of me.
Lexi was literally on Jake, making out with him.
Once I got through the initial shock, my wolf took control of my body, although I didn't let her shift. A snarl shook my body, and for a second I was almost scared of myself and I stalked towards Lexi and Jake, who had now broken away from eachother and were watching me. While Lexi looked smug, Jake looked terrified and worried and maybe a little humiliated, but he should be.
"Marcy, you don't understand... Please..." Jake mind-linked to me, but I quickly blocked him out and my wolf snarled at them again. I was suddenly glad that my wolf was in control because I was sobbing in the back of our mind as I just watched, barely stopping my wolf from shifting.
Lexi pecked Jake on the lips again, earning a low but threatening growl from me, and stood up, facing me with a large smirk across her face.
"I, Lexi Martha Reed, challenge you, Luna Marcy Rose Hill, for both the title of Luna, and as Jake's mate. Do you accept the challenge?" She looked at me smugly. Either I accepted and fought her, or I denied and she was immediately granted all the titles she had challeneged me for.
I took control back from my wolf for a second,"I, Luna Marcy Rose Hill, accept your challenge for my titles as Luna of this pack, and for the blessing of my mate." I replied, although I shot Jake a glare at the end and he stood up and aproached me, whimpering slightly. I growled at him and took off running outside and into the woods. I could hear him following me though.
"Marcy! Please, just give me a chance to explain!" He yelled as he chased after me, both of us were still in human form.
"There's no point Jake, I saw it with my own eyes!" I yelled back at him just as he caught up to me and tackled me, both of us went flying through the air, but Jake switched our placed so he landed laying on the groudn with a thud and I landed safely on his chest. He quickly stood up and checked me over before crushing me into his chest. I whimpered and tried my best to get away from him, but it was pointless.
"I bet you even want me to decline the challenge! To think of all those times I kept her from harrassing you, and now you want her as your mate rather than me!?" I shrieked at him, I was sobbing now.
Jake growled at me and it made me freeze. It wasn't Jake in control anymore, it was his wolf, and if I made a wrong move it could end with him forcing me to mate with him, or my own death.
"You know none of that is true! Damnit Marcy, I was trying to explain to you she did it, not me! I didn't want anything to do with her and she heard you coming and she jumped me! Marcy, listen to me!"
"You're an alpha Jake, you couldv'e stopped her, but you didn't!"
"She caught me off guard! I couldn't help it!" Jake, well his wolf, growled at me.
"Whatever." I said and somehow got away from him before I took off running in a random direction, but was quickly pinned to a tree to where I couldn't get away.
"You. Are. Mine." Jake growled at me. It wasn't just his wolf, it was him speaking too.
Then he crashed his lips on mine and kissed me hungerily. He wasn't trying to be loving, or sweet, or even trying to make it up to me, no he was showing possession and he was showing me who I belonged to.
And somehow, in some crazy way it made me feel better and before I realized it, I was kissing him back.
This kiss was getting very heated when all of a sudden Jake ripped himself away from me and growled as he jumped around with his back to me in a protective stance. I stood there, gasping for air as I looked around Jake's shoulder and watched to see what was going to happen.
A few minutes later, two vampires stepped out from behind some trees.
And one of those vampires was the one that goes by the name Vincent Retelli.
