I knew Marcy can win. After all, the Luna title is rightfully hers. As Jake tends to her wounds, I look around to see the pack staring at me warily, as if expecting me to flee.

'We need to talk to Marc,'' Sam tells me. Now that I'm in control, I have absolutely no idea what to do. 'Give me back the control if you think you can't do it.'

Willingly, I hide behind our head as Sam takes over. She glares at the pack who is giving us a cautious look. As soon as she glares at them, they look elsewhere. Sam uses her vampire speed away from the werewolves.

We hear footsteps following us from behind a second after we leave.

Sam turns so we can see a little girl.

"Isabel," Sam says.

The next thing I know, she hugs our legs. "Sam," she cries. "You're back."

Sam kneels down so we are the same height as her. "Tu me manques trop, Isabel."

Isabel cries even harder when Sam says that. I have no idea what she said, but based on the little girl's crying, it has something to do with Sam missing her.

"Sam," a teenage boy who looks a little older than Sam says, behind Isabel.

"Oh Jacques!" Sam sobs, throwing her hand around his neck as they hug tightly.

"I thought you were gone, Sam," Jacques sobs into our shoulder. He is so much taller than us, which makes us feel small in his embrace. "Your eyes were red and you escaped. How did you come back? Did you manage to kill the monster in you?"

When he says that, I flinch mentally. Am I really a monster? Who am I kidding? Sam used to call me Beast before. I should have known that I am nothing in Sam's life. Now that she has enough strength, she can make me disappear.

I can be nothing. I can be forgotten.

Sam growls at Jacques, pushing him away from us. "Don't call her a monster," she hisses at him.

Jacques frowns. "Her?"

Sam glowers at him, but answers him nevertheless, "Yes, her name is Bow. She is a part of me now, Jacques. Without her, I would have never found Vincent."

Jacques eyes soften. "I'm sorry, petit papillon. I didn't know."

"Sam!" We turn around to see a boy with cropped blond hair and striking green eyes. His geeky glasses make him look cute. I also notice Isabel is no longer with us.

"Monsieur Taxi!" Sam says, grinning.

"You're back!" the human boy says, hugging us. His blood smells so good from this angle. I struggle to take over. I need to drink his blood. I need to know how delicious he tastes...

'No, Bow. He's my friend,' Sam tells me mentally as we pull away from his hug.

I sigh unhappily, but back myself. I need to control myself, but it's so difficult!

"How are the two of you?" Sam asks as Jacques puts his arms around the human's waist. It click to me that they are beloveds. Am I seeing right? A vampire and a human are soulmates?

"We're good," Jacques says. "We're hanging out a lot. Oh, and he knows."

Sam looks at George with rasied eyebrows. "So you're okay with us being vampires? You know that none of us will drink your blood."

"If you ask me, I think it's cool to have my boyfriend and best friend as a vampire," the human - George says.

Sam grins at him. "Good to know. Now I can tell you all Jacques' embrassing stories when we were kids. There was once when he tried making waffle and ..."
