"Why you son-of-a-bitch!" Jake yelled at Vincent as he punched him square in the jaw. I felt bad for giggling, but Jake just punched one of the most powerful vampires in existence, and there was nothing Vincent could do but hiss and glare, which didn't do much. I started to walk towards them, to try and get Jake to realize how pointless this was, and I noticed how my legs felt heavier and harder to me. Vincent, somehow, still hadn't given up on controlling us.

"Jake." I said, placing a hand on his shoulder. I felt his muscles relax as he took in a deep breath and let it out.

"It's not worth it." came out of my mouth, despite wanting to see Vincent bloody and battered myself, I knew it was best not to.

Jake nodded and I started to walk away from the scene, to go find Lexi. I could feel Sam and Jake following me, although I wasn't sure I wanted them to watch. What if I lost? Lexi's wolf was bigger than mine, not by much, but still. Lexi didn't have the training I had either, I was faster and more stealthy than her. I had been trained with Jake and Garret as pups, and now all three of us were lethal. They had trained me, because for one, I had pretty much been raised as Jake and Garret's sister (Which seems weird now that Jake is my mate... ) and second, there had always been a good chance Jake would've picked me as his third (again, sounds weird now that I'm actually Luna).

Thinking about that, made me feel better, but I hadn't had to fight in quite some time. Not a real fight at least, against another werewolf. Sure, I knew how to fight a vampire pretty well now, but we hadn't had a problem with other werewolves in quite awhile.

As the clearing came into view, I began thinking about all the things I had been trained as a pup. One thing my size gave me the advantage of, was I could climb easily and I knew for a fact that Lexi couldn't, and living in the woods, that came in handy.

Lexi was in human form, pacing around the small clearing area we used for challenges and gatherings. When she noticed me, she glanced up. At first, she looked nervous, but that look quickly washed away and was replaced by a straight face.

If she lost this fight, she'd be a rogue. She wouldn't be accepted in any pack, especially not this one. And the same went for me. Other packs would be scared I would become power hunger, or loose control of my wolf, so I would become a rogue if I lost.

I wouldn't loose, I couldn't loose.

One of the elders always had to come and watch the challenges, kind of like a referee, and today the elder was Jake's father, and past alpha.

"Alright, when I say go, the fight begins. The fight is over when one person submisses to the other, or, and this is only if it's an extreme case, someone is killed, but we don't want to go that far. Are we ready?" Jake's father asked. Jake, Sam and Garret were standing to one side, watching closely.

I gave a quick nod and got in a fighting stance the same time Lexi did.

I know you're mad, but you can do this Marcy. I believe in you. I don't want anyone else as my Luna, or my Mate. Jake linked to me and I smiled slightly at him. I guess I should probably have listened to him before.

"Three... Two... One... "Jake's dad called out and Lexi glared at me, "Go!"

We both began circling each other like predators. I was still holding my wolf back, but my mind was working more animalistically now.

Suddenly Lexi shifted and lunged at me, but I was able to move out of the way and shift as well, snarling at Lexi as I stalked towards her. Lexi's wolf was an ugly color if you asked me, a yellowish brown that reminded me of drying mud. I personally loved that I was a red wolf, it made me feel unique.

Lexi got up quickly and growled as she backed away from me, then suddenly tackled me and sent us both rolling. After awhile of us rolling and biting at each other, I was able to get a mouthful of her fur on her shoulder in my mouth and dig my teeth down into her flesh before ripping the muscle and skin off. Lexi howled in pain and snapped at my neck, but I was able to flip us over so I was pinning her down and snarled at her. Suddenly one of the people watching gasped and I lost my focus, glancing up at the crowd. At that moment, Lexi too her shot and bit down on my leg, snapping a bone.

I yelped and jumped back off of her. I heard a loud growl behind me but I wasn't letting Lexi out of my sight again. By now, both of us were limping from the fight and a good bit of blood was covering boh of us. I was pissed, and I could feel anger radiating from the crowd around me. I wasn't going to be able to climb now, not with a broken leg, so that option was out. I just had to attack.

Without thinking about it, I let my wolf take over and, using three legs, lunged at her, knocking her back. and into a tree. She laid there, the breath knocked out of her, as I stalked forward, limping, then began circling her. She was the prey now.

Lexi began to get up, but I jumped her again, this time I pinned her down, but not before she yanked a mouthfull of fur off my stomach, causing me to yelp.

It was obvious by now that she wasn't going to submit to me, so this fight was going to end in death most likely. I didn't want it to go that far, but I wasn't just giving up to her. I couldn't loose my mate and my pack.

Another vicious growl came from behind us but I paid no attention. Unlike me, Lexi made the bad choice of looking into the crowd and I took this chance to bite down on her neck, not enough to kill her, but enough to show her if she didn't give in now, I would kill her.

I don't want to kill you Lexi. I linked to her. I really didn't, but if it came down to it, I would.

Of course not. You're too weak. You could never be a good Luna, unlike me. I'm gonna rip you to shreds, bitch. she linked back, except now the entire pack could hear that and more menacing growls erupted from behind us.

At this point, I couldn't control my wolf anymore, and without realizing it I snapped down on her throat and ripped her windpipe clean out.

I turned around, still limping, and saw that Jake had shifted and multiple wolves were surrounding to keep him back, but now they all backed away and he was running straight towards me. He stopped right in front of me and nuzzled his face to the side of mine softly. Suddenly he shifted back and picked me up, still in my wolf form, but I shifted as he picked me up. I felt extremely gross, covered in blood, my arm at a funny ankle from being broken.
