He watches as the nasty, greasy man closes in on the girl with strawberry blond hair, who shrinks further into the ground as the man with lust in his eyes approaches her. He can hear her whimper and smirks as he thinks of how grateful she'll be for his interruption of this unfortunate situation. Dramatic ways of saving the girl run through his head and he almost misses his opportunity, but fortunately he notices the girl tense as the man takes the last step to reach her. He feels anger as the man reaches down to caress the girl's cheek. But before the man lays a hand on the girl, Calvin clears his throat and catches the attention of them both. The man's face shows nothing as he calmly stares at Calvin, but the girl's face shows the appreciation that Calvin was hoping for. Calvin examines the girl and is hypnotized by her tantalizing green eyes. Calvin could not help but think that she is beautiful and excitement runs through his veins as he realizes that her safety is depending on him and only him.

As Calvin walks toward them, his curly brown hair falls into his gray eyes and he aggressively flips it out of his face. The man's facial expression changes as Calvin nears them and once he notices Calvin's clinched jaw, he tenses and takes a defensive stance next to the girl. The girl looks more terrified as the man begins to creep toward her, but once she sees Calvin advancing on them, she physically relaxes. As the man tries to grab the girl's arm, Calvin sprints toward them and stops in front of the man. Calvin takes the man by the collar and throws him away from the girl. Once the man is back on his feet, he turns and tries to flee. But Calvin chases him down and once Calvin has a grip on him, he begins to pound the man's body with clenched fist.

Once Calvin gets tired of using his fist, he tackles the disgusting man onto the ground and kicks him on the stomach and continues to do so until he feels two small hands pulling on his arms. He sharply turns to see the girl begging him to stop, and his impulse tells him to push her away from him. But then her green gaze meets his gray eyes and he immediately stops kicking the man. She reaches for his hand and drags him away from the man.

"Thank you!" she exclaims and throws her arms around his neck when they are far from the man. Calvin wraps his arms around her and smirks as his own prediction of her gratefulness comes true. Once the girl pulls away from him, she notices his smirk and raises a quizzical eyebrow. She cannot help but admire his adorable smirk, but also feels uneasy of it.

"I knew you would be very grateful," Calvin responds, flashing her his infamous dimples. She stares at his deep dimples and doesn't realize the meaning of his words until his smile turns into a smirk.

The girl's face falls and she says disappointedly, "Oh, you're one of them."

Her words brings him heartbreaking memories and pain. Intense pain. He feels like a small kid again and he tries to shake off the lonely feeling, but once again her words replay in his mind. A pale face with bright blue eyes flashes him a disappointed look and says the exact same words but with more hurtful ones. 'Oh, you're one of them and here I thought I could love you.'

She watches him and notices as he internally struggles with a memory. After a few seconds of silence, she begins to worry that her words have caused him pain. She is indecisive of whether to ignore his pain or try to take back her unintentionally hurtful words. But just as she reaches out to help him, he changes the subject.

"What is your name?" Although she is taken back by his sudden outburst, she replies.

"Darcy, my name is Darcy Beckham. What about you? What is the name of my heroic prince charming," she asks exaggerating her gratitude, trying to playfully make him forget about his troubles.

"Calvin Goode."

"Oh, that's a nice name!"

"I know."
