"She seems like a bitch" I tell my cousin, right before our first practice, about the coach's daughter. Corey, Cori, Cory, Corie; I'm not really sure. Turns out, I was so wrong...
So it's a couple of months later and the team is heading out to a tournament in Arlington. Sadly, I was not. I had a dance recital that weekend and would only be able to attend one game on Saturday, and all day Sunday. On Friday, I stayed in touch with the team as much as possible. I came off of the stage after killing my lyrical dance and saw that they won their game. After a LONG night of dance, I was up the next morning and in the car on my way to Arlington. I arrived at the ballpark slightly late and ended up warming up with my cousin. After losing the game, Corie and her parents invited me to come back to the hotel that everyone was staying at until I had to leave. Corie and I sat in the lobby with a couple of other girls for awhile, until we decided to make some hot chocolate. As we waited for it to cool down we walked up the room that she was staying in, only to realize that her parents (who had both key cards) were not in the room. So we sat outside of the door and talked. That's all we did, was talk. We talked and it was like the world had stopped and zoned in to that 30 minute conversation in a hotel hallway.
It was in those 30 minutes that I knew this girl was going to change my life some how. I wasn't sure how, but I just had this feeling that this "coach's daughter" was going to make an impact in my life. I had a feeling, but there was nothing that could've prepared me for what was to come in the next year.
