(Elizabeth): "Mathias...... Mathias, can you hear me? ...... Please, wake up ....."

The voice of the young woman seemed distant and echoing in his mind. With great difficulty, Mathias weakly opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was Elizabeth, leaning over him, very worried look, but now relieved to see him awake. The young woman was soaked, his hair still dripping with water drops. Mathias could also smell his skin and wet military clothes, and the fine and hot sand under his body. The face of the young woman was so beautiful, and lit by the sun, she looked like a angel fallen from the sky. Still troubled, Mathias gently placed his hand and gently stroked the cheek of Elizabeth, who did not move.

(Mathias): "Are.....Are you an angel? .... I'm probably dead."

At these words, Elizabeth blushed and felt her heart beating. No one ever had compared her to an angel before. She smiled and ran his hand through hair of Mathias, speaking softly.

(Elizabeth): "No, you're back among the living."

The pain in the leg was still present and was hurting. With pain, Mathias stood up, rubbing his head, and saw that they were on a deserted beach on the edge of the sea. A sea? In the sky? What a crazy world! He looks at Elizabeth, who smiled. She was unhurt, and it reassured the young man, but she seemed exhausted.

(Mathias): "What ..... What happened? Where are we?"

(Elizabeth): "I don't know. After a long fall, we fell into the water but because of your injury, you lost too much blood and you fainted. I managed to pull you onto this beach. You are heavier than what I thought, you know?"

That last sentence was said with some irony, which made the young man smile. He saw that his leg was bandaged, surely by Elizabeth while he was unconscious. As she helps him to rise up, he spoke again.

(Mathias): "Thank you." He said softly, but with sincerity.

Elizabeth said nothing but had a small smile on her lips. But the wind got up and the young woman was very cold, despite her blue jacket. Seeing her trembling, Mathias decided to help her, at his turn. He pulled his military jacket and put it on the shoulders of Elizabeth, who was first surprised but a little embarrassed too.

(Elizabeth): "And you? You will not be cold?"

(Mathias): "You know, as a soldier, I was trained to worse."

Elizabeth was touched by such gallantry from the young man. Wearing only a t-shirt now, Mathias feels the cold of the night bite his body , but he resisted as long as he could. He always had a deep respect for women, so, Elizabeth before himself. But very quickly, Mathias broke again silence.

(Mathias): "I remember the giant bird who attacked us at the prison. What was that thing, and how is it that you are able to control it?"

Elizabeth was a little embarrassed, but after all, she decided to help Mathias, she did not hide anything.

(Elizabeth): "Songbird. Columbia's protector. When I was a child, he was my only friend. He brings me food, toys, books. But growing up, I knew what he really was. He was my guardian, but my jailer too. It was he who was responsible for watching and prevent me to go out of my tower when I was not allowed. I do not know why, but I'm the only person who can calm him down."

(Mathias): "Why did he protect you, and against whom?"

(Elizabeth): "From my father, I am the "Lamb of God", who will guide the people of Columbia to better destiny. And Songbird had to protect me against the enemies of God, and first against the man named the "false shepherd", you in this case. This is much like a prophecy, but myself, I understand nothing."
