AN: Hey people am back after my long hiatus on this site. I can't believe that this story reached a 100 reads despite my absence! I know its not a big deal but for a person like me... IT is.
Also this chapter is dedicated to @shadingsun for being my first follower whom I have not blackmailed to follow me :p
I promise to update regularly now. If you come across this book don't reject it thinking that its another cliché love story coz it may feel like one in the beginning but its not.
And please vote/ fan/ comment and let me know your views. It may not cost you a lot of time but it would mean a lot to me.

The sun is filling up the room
And I can hear you dreaming
Do you feel the way I do right now
I wish we would just give up
Cause the best part is falling
Call it anything but love
And I will make sure to keep my distance.

Many days passed since our last dinner in Shalimar. He had walked away so fast that I had been too stunned to react. Luckily, he did not dessert me at the hotel but he wasn't exactly the epitome of friendliness when he dropped me home.
Our interaction in the office was mostly professional. At times, we did have our friendly banters but that's about it. Sometimes, I missed the carefree Devon I had seen that day. But I knew, that it was better if it worked like this. Being close to Devon, brought some unknown feelings which I did not know whether I would be able to handle.
Plus, the guy himself was too difficult to handle. At one point, he would be all smiling and at the very next moment he'd be pissed off. Half the times, I was not even able to understand as to what I did to offend him. The dinner was an apt example of that.
Christmas was just around the corner but I was feeling extremely low. Our parents (Raphael's and mine) were holidaying in Europe instead of spending time with us. To add salt to injury, the Christmas festivities organised each year in my office were cancelled because Mr. Wilkinson's aunt died recently and we were all supposed to mourn her death. yeah right! I mean I love Mr. Wilkinson very much but the guy himself was in his sixties so his aunt must be at least a 100 years old, she was going to die sooner or later. In fact, I was shocked to know that he had an aunt who was alive. So why the hell were we not celebrating?! But I did not dare to voice my views in the office, any body here could just twist my words to fowl my reputation and get me fired. Rebecca too, was not happy. There were also rumours of the New Year party getting cancelled. I felt so bloody depressed. I did not want to welcome 2014 in my couch by watching TV and eating popcorn and ice cream. I wanted to let my hair down and party hard, desperately.
"Bianca, come fast. Mr Wilkinson is making an important announcement and has asked each of us to report within five minutes", Rebecca called out urgently.
"Since, I presume that most of you are present here, I shall begin", Mr. Wilkinson was announced. That was so typical of him. The guy would always announce that he was going to begin before he began with any announcement.
"As you might have already heard that there would be no Christmas celebrations this year owing to the untimely death of my aunt, I also wish to grudgingly inform you that we will also not have any New Year party this year."
Oh god! I knew that this would happen. Now, even I agreed with Mr. Wilkinson. The death of his aunt was definitely untimely, couldn't she wait until New Year?!
"Its alright Bianca, no need to feel so sad", Mr Wilkinson's voice boomed interrupting my thought chain.
God! Was I that obvious! Was I grumbling out my thoughts out loud?! I looked up at my boss who was still smiling at me. Nope! I definitely was not grumbling out loud. Whew!
"I know many of you here are as disappointed as Miss Bancrofti here is or maybe, even more. So although, there is no new year party in the office, you people still can enjoy. Devon is organising one and you all are invited to it to enjoy youselves." With that Mr. Wilkinson ended his speech and retreated back to his cave aka his cabin.
There was a lot of stir in the office owing to Mr. Wilkinson's announcement. Every one was so super excited. I had mixed emotions regarding this whole setup, I didn't know how to react. Amidst all this confusion I failed to see Devon walking right in my direction and bumped straight into him. An amazing fragrance teased my nostrils, it somehow was a mix of coffee and dark chocolate. mmmm...
"Hey,watch where your going", he said.
"Uh yeah, Sorry. I just didn't notice you."
"Its fine. This is not the first time, you haven't noticed me for the past seven years", he said solemnly.
"What did you just say?"
"Nothing. Never mind are you coming for my party?"
For a second, I thought of declining his invitation, but one look at him and I couldn't. Also his statement earlier had hit me pretty hard.
"I do want to, but there is one problem. Raphael has nowhere to go and I can't leave him alone on New Year's Eve", I sighed.
"No problem. Get him along with you. I won't mind."
"Are you sure?"
"Of course, I am. You both can come. Okay. Now, I gotta go, will chat with you later...bye!"
"Bye and thanks a lot for the invitation."
