-Bad Romance by Lady Gaga

As I sat in the car next to Devon, I felt a peaceful silence envelope us. Cool winds blew through the window making me feel content. I could see the city I loved so much as we drove through it. New York is beautiful in the day, but it's simply mesmerising at night time. It looks like a modern fairy land with the lights emanating from various buildings and the street lamps. Being born and brought up in a city environment, I just loved the city landscape especially at night time when it sparkled like a queen's jewels. The cool breeze blowing through my hair calmed me down and slowly lulled me to sleep.

"Wake up Sleeping beauty."  I heard a deep voice disturb my sleep.

"Hmmm...." I groaned.

"Bianca, wake up. We have already reached our destination." The voiced said sternly shaking me out of my dreams.

I slowly opened my eyes, my pupils were dilating try to accommodate my vision to the surroundings.

"Where are we?" I croaked, my voice still raspy from my sleep.

"Get out of the car and see for yourself," Devon said with a strained expression on his face. I couldn't understand that why was he so tensed.

I got out of the vehicle to see a beautiful two-storeyed mansion in front of me. The building was crème coloured and had loads of windows. Each window had an attached balcony where various plants were kept. There was lot of greenery around the house but due to the dark I couldn't figure out whether it was a garden or wild vegetation. Except for the building, the whole place was covered with fairy lights, the vegetation, the fence lining the boundary and even the signboard highlighting the name of this place.

'Mariah's Home for the Special.'

I liked the place from outside.

Grabbing Devon's hand, I told him with a big grin on my face,"Let's go inside."

"Sure." Devon replied with some hesitation.

We rang the doorbell and patiently waited for it to open. The door opened to reveal a warm lady.

"Good evening, Sir." She said smiling at Devon. "Please come in."

Devon placed his hand on my lower back and guided me in. There was something in the way he placed his hand, which sent tingles all over me. I shivered at the effect.

"Hi Saru. How many times have I told you to call me Devon? But you never listen." Devon laughed,

"You know I can't. You're my boss, besides I owe you my life." Her eyes were filled with respect and admiration for Devon as she spoke.

"You don't owe me anything, Saru." Devon spoke softly. "And am really sorry for imposing on you so late at night. This is my friend, Bianca." He said pointing towards me. "I wanted to show her this place and let her meet every one but I guess my timing is a little off." He joked
