Light streamed through the blinds, illuminating the room. My eyes fluttered open, suddenly greeted by the harsh light causing a groan to escape my chapped lips. My matted hair was flat under my head, makeup smudged under my eyes. I felt as disgusting as I looked. When I looked over at the clock hung on the wall I realised it was 12pm already, causing me to sigh slightly. My plan was to make the most of every single day I had here and it was already failing.
After abandoning the warmth of my bed I managed to drag myself to my ensuite. I hopped into the shower, letting the hot water coat my body. I washed my hair and face, getting out of the shower shortly after shaving. I let my hair dry naturally as I brushed my teeth and applied some concealer and mascara. I slipped on some leggings and a cropped white hoodie before putting my hair into two French plaits.
As I picked up the garments I had carelessly thrown onto the floor I realised someone had placed me into an oversized t-shirt of which I had no idea who it belonged to. I folded it before walking into my bedroom and placing it on my bed, assuming the owner would come and collect it soon. It was impossible to ignore the harsh pounding sensation that occupied my head, causing a throb with every step I took. On my way to the kitchen I noticed Daniel and James passed out in the livingroom, snoring obnoxiously as their chests moved in sync.
As I reached the kitchen I felt warm hands squeeze my waist gently before hearing someone whisper "boo," into my hair that lightly covered my ear. I spun around to see a beaming Jai looking down at me, his hands still lightly holding my waist. "Good morning," I giggled, smiling up at him. "Good morning," he said softly, still grinning.
My eyes fluttered from his eyes down to his lips before back to his gleaming eyes again. I watched as his smile slowly faded, his eyes looking down at my lips briefly. That's when I noticed his body was slowly leaning closer to mine, causing my breath to hitch ever so slightly.
"It's movie day!" I heard Beau yell, the crash of the kitchen door startling Jai and I. Luckily, before Beau noticed anything the two of us had moved far away from each other, possibly making it somewhat obvious. "Oh right yeah, forgot about that." Jai said awkwardly, his hand reaching around to scratch the back of his neck, gazing down at the floor.
"I'll grab snacks, I'll see you guys in the livingroom." Beau said excitedly, causing a smile to tug at my lips. Around 10 minutes later the 6 of us were huddled on the couches. Beau, Jai, Luke and I were on the three seater causing a tight squeeze whilst Daniel and James sat on the two seater. To my luck I was next to Luke who seemed like he didn't even want me here. However, I was next to Jai too which took some of the tension away.
As the boys debated whether we should watch a horror or a romantic movie I thought back to what just happened in the kitchen. I wasn't leaning in too was I? I didn't lead him on at all, right? Although I had to admit I found Jai attractive I had a boyfriend who I loved and missed dearly, I was in love with him and I could never do anything to hurt him... Right?
