The car ride seemed to last forever, despite my many attempts to try and start a conversation I couldn't manage to let the words escape my mouth. I watched as his hands gently drummed the steering wheel - his eyes squinting slightly as the concentrated on the road ahead. The silence didn't seem to bother him as much as it did me.
I watched as we passed by small houses lined up in uniform along the narrow road. I'd love to live here again, everything just felt so normal and comforting. Although I loved LA it was possibly a little too busy, every night someone was urging you to come out and drink and everyday someone was urging you to go to the mall. However, here no one was in a rush. Everything happened at a comfortable pace and I felt more at peace.
After what felt like forever we arrived at the mall, Luke taking his keys out and holding them in his hand. "Thank you," I mumbled. He didn't reply, instead he just nodded and got out the car. I followed shortly after and ran a hand through my hair, ignoring the slight pang of embarrassment that made me feel. "I'll get the bus back." I said, closing the door before looking over at him.
"Well it's either that or walk, I don't remember offering you a ride home." Ouch. I furrowed my eyebrows, feeling my chest tighten slightly. Although I was grateful for the ride here, which he didn't even want to give me, I felt like I wanted to scream in his smug face. "Why are you such a douche?" I snapped, looking at him as he began walking away.
He muttered something under his breath and shook his head, continuing to walk away. I soon felt the sadness and embarrassment overcome the anger. All I needed was to find Selena and get my mind off of this. I walked towards the mall, Luke disappearing from my view.
I quickly found Selena who was smiling widely at me, looking as excited as I was to see her. Her slim arms wrapped around me as she squealed, her face buried in my hair. "Kylie! It's been forever!" She laughed, causing me to giggle to myself, shaking my head.
We walked around together and to my surprise I was approached by at least 10 fans in the span of two hours. I happily took pictures with them all; it still felt surreal that people would recognise me on the streets and ask for pictures. We stopped for a coffee as we talked about what we'd done since we'd last met up. If I were to have got a job in Australia I knew this is what every weekend would be like. It somewhat upset me, I hardly had the chance to catch up with friends in LA.
I groaned when I noticed Luke walk in with one of his friends, both of them talking and laughing. "What's up with you?" Selena questioned, raising her eyebrow as she looked at me before following my gaze. "Luke? You're groaning because you saw Luke, as in your best friend Luke?" She said, the confusion still evident on her face. I couldn't help but roll my eyes and laugh. "Trust me, he's not my best friend. I doubt he even knows my name anymore."
Luke grabbed his coffee and headed over to an empty table. I flushed when he looked at me, knowing I probably looked like I was staring at him the whole time - which I was. He winked before placing his coffee down and turning away, continuing to make conversation with his friend. What the hell is his problem?

A/N; Okay so I know this is crap but I wanted to post today. I've decided I'm going to start posting at 7pm every other day. 7 is a better time so I have the chance to do homework and by posting every other day I have longer to develop and improve my chapters so.
I hope you're enjoying so far!
