Your POV

I sat intensely outside an office in the main Wayne Enterprise building in Gotham. I have an appointment for a job interview as a secretary, but it looks like I'm not the only one. There are other young women here to interview for the same job. Looking around the waiting room, I overhear one of the girls talk about how she went to school at one of the IV league universities in Gotham to the others. A few of the women already had their interview, so only four women were left, including myself, to wait for our turn. All of them were dolled-up like they were going for a modeling interview and looked as though they were from high-class universities. Knowing this didn't make me feel any less insecure since I only went to Gotham Community College which is nowhere as prestigious as the others.

I nervously adjusted my glasses and looked down at my outfit. I was wearing my favorite white button-up blouse with a black business skirt. My (h/c) hair was done up in a tight bun with a hairpin. I didn't look as pretty as the rest but, I am determined to at least try.

'That doesn't matter. You are a very smart person and you can do this.' I thought to myself. In addition to trying to boost my confidence, the employer is none other than Bruce Wayne himself, so it became harder to ease my nerves. The pay is really good and lord knows that I need the money.

It has been tough this past year, after all, living in Gotham wasn't easy. Ever since Mom died in a drunk driver accident four months ago; I have been drowning in debts including apartment payments and funeral bills. I live in the rough-side of Gotham and it seems that the rent just continues to increase. Her death caused an empty feeling inside, since she was the closest friend and only family I had left. I need this job to make ends meet. I took a deep breath, clearing my head from the sad, nervous feelings I had weighing me down.

Suddenly, the door to the office swung open and a woman ran out crying. This did not help my nerves.

"Ahem!" The sound snapped my attention back to the office door, as an old, African-American man cleared his throat forcing everyone's attention on him. He looked around the room and then looked at the clipboard in his hand.

"Sorry for that. Now, can I have (y/n) come in to the office, please." The man said in a very calm voice. I gulped, stood-up and followed him into the office.

As I walked in, I was amazed how huge the office was. There was a huge window that looked out to the city with a large desk and chair in front of it. In the center of the room, there was a coffee table with a sofa and two arm chairs sitting around it.

"Ahem." I snapped my attention back to the man. He was already sitting on the sofa with his clipboard and pen ready.

"Please, sit." He said with calming smile. He moved his hand and gestured to one of the arm chairs in front of him. I smiled nervously and sat in the chair.

"There is no need for you to be nervous." He said. I blushed slightly. "My name is Lucius Fox and I will be interviewing you."
