TEXT 5

Chapter 30

I awoke a little after ten he next morning. The watery winter sun streamed around my curtains, creating a golden glow around my room. I rolled over and grabbed my phone to find a multitude of texts waiting for me. Unfortunately my friends were all busy, however they wished me a good time and said they wanted all the goss next week. The final text was from Harry, sent in the early hours of the morning.

"Missing you baby, see you this eve. Jack will pick you up at 7, txt him your address. H x"

A smile automatically spread across my face at the sentiment as butterflies began to flutter round in my empty stomach. Breakfast was very much needed. I had a very relaxed day at home before entering the bathroom to make myself presentable. An hour and a half later, hair and make-up done and dressed I stood back and looked in my full-length mirror. Needless to say I looked a little different compared to my normal everyday self, and for once I felt comfortable, and confident in what I wore. I smiled to myself before grabbing my clutch, my overnight bag and Harry's present before I headed to my front door.

"Oh hello glamour puss" Jack said as I jumped into the back of the familiar people carrier.

"Well you know, I like to make an effort every now and again" I said as we pulled away. Most of the journey was silent, apart from the odd polite question and the radio on in the background. The London streets whizzed past me at breakneck speed before we finally slowed and pulled up at a set of gates. They opened and revealed a mansion like house surrounded by a manicured lawns and tapered topiary. Decorative party lights flickered around the garden creating an air of exclusivity.

"There we go" Jack said as he pulled up outside the front door and switched the engine off, causing the internal lights of the car to flicker on.

"Yep" I said trying to grab my things with my overly clumsy and clammy hands. Nerves suddenly apparent. Get a grip, I thought as I reached for the door hand. "Thanks for the lift Jack, I appreciate it" I said as I found the ground and stepped out of the car.

"Have a good evening" he said before I closed the door and he pulled away. Then I was alone. Stood outside an unfamiliar house, staring at the grand looking wooden front door. I took a few steps forward and the beat of the music became clearer the closer I got. I rang the doorbell before stepping back, I doubted anyone would hear it through the music. Then the handle clicked, the door opened and Louis greeted me.

"Oh hey Jem" he said in a surprised tone, as his eyes flickered quickly over me "Come in, come in, come in" he said as he reached for my overnight bag before I dropped one of the many items I was attempting to carry.

"Thanks" I said as he took it and put it under the stairs.

"Let me find..." he said looking into the room full of bodies on his left "Hannah, I'll introduce you, follow me" he said as he walked towards the visible kitchen "Ah here she is" he said as we turned into the kitchen, my eyes flickered quickly around the room searching for Harry but to no avail, before they landed on a pretty blonde girl who was now arm in arm with Louis.

"Hannah this is Jemma, Jemma, Hannah, my girlfriend. Jem do you want a drink?" he said affectionately before heading in the direction of the fridge. I automatically nodded.

"Nice to finally meet you" she said as she advanced towards me before giving me a friendly hug. Maybe she could sense my nerves. Either way I was grateful for the nerve-reducing hug.
