Twenty minutes later, and as I'd just grabbed my bag to leave, there was a tap on the door.
"Hurry or the lift will go" as he darted out of sight and towards the lift. I quickly followed and jumped into the lift as the doors began to close.
"They bought my excuse" he said as he reached for my hand and kissing me gently on the lips.
"Phew" I said as I pulled away, "Now today, there will be, none of this, in front of people" I said between kisses.
"Nope, none, at, all" he replied.
We parted and dropped each others hand as the lift reached the ground floor.
"Jesus, he's on time" Jack said with disbelief as Harry turned the corner, I followed a little behind so we didn't look together.
"I'll just grab a piece of toast" I said as Harry followed Jack out towards the car.
Harry stopped sharply "Oh, I'll get it" he said as he stalked towards the breakfast area, "You go and get in the car" he said as he disappeared out of sight. He didn't really give me the chance to object.
"I'll let you in and then go and round the troops. I it's like herding cat's with this this lot" Jack said as he reached buzzer distance of the car.
I reached the car and took my allocated seat up front before I noticed Harry leaving the lobby, toast in hand. I opened the door as he reached the car.
"You know it's gonna be really hard just staring at the back of you head, for the entire day" he said handing me my toast.
"Thanks" I said taking it from him "Well it's either the back of my head or one of those lot" I said taking a bite out of my toast and pointing to the lobby, where three of his bandmates were stood.
"Hmmmm" he said as he scrunched his nose up in thought "Yours is much prettier" he said with a wink as subconsciously blushed at the complement. "Do me a favour" he said as he rooted round in his back pocket before pulling out his phone "Put your number in there, then at least I can text you while staring at the back of you head".
I tapped my number in and handed it back to him, just as his band mates reached the car.
"Morning Harold" Louis said as he opened the back door of the car and jumped in.
Within a few minutes, many groggy 'Mornings' Jack pulled away and we headed to the venue. I casually checked my phone to find two emails and a text waiting, that was never good before 9am.
The first email was from Rob - "Sorry Jemma, had to head back to London, Liv and Tom have got food poisoning and Sharon needs an extra pair of hands. You know where we are if you need help, but you seem pretty on top of it all. R"
The next email was from Sharon with Jack copied in for good measure - "Good luck Jemma, I'm sure you'll be fine but if you need help just call one of us. Jack - look after her. Sharon"
Well this week just got better with the minute. So now I was running the on location press for one of Sony's most successful acts, after only being in the job for a month or so. I appreciated the fact that they trusted me, but I couldn't help but wonder, what if something goes wrong, and cock everything up.
I sighed as I clicked to check the text message, it was from an unknown number.
"Here I am, sending you a text while staring at the back of your head :) H x". I smiled as my doubts about the week and my responsibility disappeared.
"How's the view? J x" I replied.
"Very nice ;) but I think Louis just drooled on my shoulder. By the looks of it he didn't sleep much last night! x"
"Oh and here we were thinking you were the one normally kept up late by females ;) x" I joked
Our conversation continued until we reached the outside of the venue. There were some girls waiting at the gates, who got a little excited once they realised who was in the car. We pulled into the loading bay and the guys got out and went and signed some autographs and had some photos taken with the fans, while Jack and I took their things into their dressing room.
I ran through the day's plans with Jack before he headed off to check their audio equipment.
"Well if you need a hand with anything, just ask" he said as he picked up his phone and security pass.
"I will do, hopefully it should all be fine though" I said with a smile, confident that my meticulous organisation wouldn't backfire.
"While I go sort the equipment out, could you nip out and round them up for me?" he asked with a smile as he loitered in the doorway.
"Sure" I said as I checked my watch, grabbed my pass, and followed him.
