The assignment was to write a few sentences about your life. Phillip Hamilton worked non-stop at the small paragraph. Then the day finally came to share. Phillip was 8th of the 24 kids in his class. After   7 of the kids, who were good but Phillip thought his was the best. Full of confidence and courage, he stood up. "My name is Phillip. I am a poet. I wrote this poem just to show it. And I just turned 9, you can write rhymes but you can't write mine. I'm practicing French and playing piano with my mother. I have a sister but I want a little brother. My daddy trying to start Americas bank. Un, dex, trois quatre cinq!" He finished his poem and his teacher laughed and most of the kids applauded except for one. He laughed and started to renact his poem but made fun of it. That day at lunch, Phillip was pushed into one of the cubbys by the same kid. Who started mimicking his French. Phillips teacher later found him and comforted him. At the end of the day when Phillip went home, he was crying. His mother, Eliza rushed over to her son and embraced him. "What happened, hun" He explained to her what happened with the speech. Just then, Alexander walked in. Phillip knew that his father would not like what happened to him. His mother smiled but then frowned. "Phillip, tell daddy what you just told me." Eliza commanded. It would have to come out sometime. "My friends liked my poem. All except...one. After my speech he mimicked it and at lunch he shoved me in my cubby. He started saying the French words wrong to mock me." Phillip said crying. His father walked over to him and put an arm around his shoulder. "Well he doesn't see that he picked on an amazing smart ad talented kid like you. Your Uncle Lafayette would be proud of you. And I'm proud of you and so is your mother. We're here for you Phillip." Alexander said as he pulled his son into a hug. "Now, let's go play that Mario game you got for your birthday." Alexander said as he walked his son into the living room.
