The Forbidden Love

Chapter 1 : The move

It was the year 2007 , the month of January . Phoenix Latu, a 15 year old girl from the suburbs who went to the most extravagant schools there had found herself in a tight spot this school season . Her parents had gotten a divorce and she had to move in with her grandma -who lived in the township- . She hadn't seen her a grandmother in a very long time . The last time she had seen her was when the family took a vacation to Durban and had invited mrs Grover to come with , Phoenix was 10 years old then and only had the memory of building a sand castle with her Ouma at the beach . Mrs Grover was her mother's mother but they were nothing alike . Phoenix's mother had a very firm character and was very strict while Ouma -mrs Grover - was laid back and   had no problem whatsoever . So Phoenix wasn't used to her grandma all that much .

Phoenix was praying that she at least stayed back at st.Victoria high school where all her friends and favourite teachers were but unfortunately she had to change schools as well .

"Mom are you serious? I can't go to a township school ! You can't make me go there ! What does dad have to say about this ? "

Phoenix angrily speaking .

"Well you'll just have to go with it whether you like it or not missy . And another thing your ratchet father has no say in what I decide for you . YOU'RE MINE NOW 😠. So get that through your skull . What I say goes . Now take you're things to the car . Mom is waiting for your arrival at Lekazi .Hurry up ! I have a meeting with my lawyer today ." Her mother said shouting all over the place . So Phoenix did what she was asked and put everything in the car . It's hard to say goodbye to your life and it's even harder to say goodbye to the people in your life,and start a whole new one in just a matter of days ...

They finally arrived at Ouma's place and it wasn't like how Phoenix remembered it . It had drastically changed from the yellow house she remembers leaving all her barbie dolls at , so that ouma didn't get bored or had to start remembering oupa Grover -who died in a car accident-
Phoenix got out to greet her grandmother "ouma ! You haven't changed one bit since the last time I saw you .but I must say the house looks awesome ! " said Phoenix hastently trying to make conversation .  Mrs Grover replied "Wow lil missy you've grown ! I can see a young woman in you already ! But tell me . How excited are you to live with ouma while your parents fix their  ....problems at home ,huh ?" Phoenix with her heart already dropped to her feet took a very deep breath then answered " It is most intriguing Ouma . I'm very grateful for your accommodation for me here and I'm sure we have a lot of catching up to do but the journey was long and I am really tired . Mother , may I go take a nap before settling in ?" The reply from her mother was really amusing to Phoenix because it was the first her mother had said to her " do whatever you need to Phoenix " all her life she had only dreamt of her mom giving her the opportunity to choose for herself . Her mom then left Phoenix and her luggage at grandma's and drove off .... in two days time the 15 year old would be starting her 10th grade . She had already planned out what kind of attitude she would have towards the children at the school
. All bad girl , like she got expelled from the her last school ,but when the truth is . She was a straight A student who was also the head girl of the school .

The dreadful day finally came ... the two days at her grandma's swift by very fast, Phoenix had thought , because the day of all nightmares had finally come . It was her first time wearing a skirt and she thought no one could imagine the discomfort. There was no transportation that would wiff her away to school so she had to walk
, thus as we might have all guessed . This was new to her . After finishing her breakfast . She said goodbye to her Ouma and started the journey to her new life ...
