chapter 7: The answer

Seminary had just started the next day , and Phoenix was still shaken up by the whole thing . "Me oh my! What am I to do ! I love him as a brother not as a boyfriend ! Chad would die if he knew I have a boyfriend but it's not worth being with someone I don't love ..."
Today was scavenging day whereby Seminary kids scavenger hunt for different objects . Elder French told everyone to divide into teams of 5 . It made 3 teams in total which were Zack's team , Phoenix's team and Mindy's team . So the lists were as follows

-A restaurant napkin
-A family recipe from a local resident
-A take-out menu from a chinese restaurant
-A copy of the front page of the local newspaper (can't buy the newspaper!)
-A bag full of as much trash you can pick up (can't take from trash cans!)
-A fortune cookie (extra points if the word "happy" appears in the the fortune cookie note)
-A change of address card from the post-office
-A "buy one, get one free" coupon
-A receipt for 30 cents worth of gas
-Catch a bus from ____ to ____ and bring back the ticket
-A business card of a lawyer (extra points if his first name is "John")
-A disposable toilet seat cover
-A stranger's autograph (extra points if his/her name is "Jordan")
-Atleast 50 cents worth of money found on the floor.

So they set out to find these mistery objects to collect the grand prize which was missing 3 days of Seminary and movie tickets and first dibbs on the treats that were to be served after the scavenger hunt . Yeah it wasn't like winning an IPhone 7 or a flat screen TV but everyone who was participating were eager to win first place plus bragging rights of course , and before they reached far Mindy said to Phoenix "good luck Town B " with a big grin on her face and an even worser accent . Who was this Mindy character she asked herself while her actual friends and church mates and herself were collecting all the items on the list , Phoenix asked a particular girl by the name Petra about Mindy . Then Petra explained that she was just an investigator of their church and that she shouldn't worry about nothing .
Petra was the same age as Phoenix but was one grade higher then she was , which shook Phoenix right to the edge until she explained why . So Petra, Phoenix and the other three ( Isabella , Zender and Louis) had found all but one item on the list and because they had 45 minutes before the scavenger hunt ended , they set under an oak tree and started to bond , they shared verses in the book of Mormon and told each other their deepest fears . I was Phoenix's turn to share her deepest secret which was really interesting ..."I'm just afraid we won't find a disposal toilet seat cover that's all !...Well amongst other things like failing and not making ny mom proud to never experiencing true ... " Her voice went lower and lower and lower then she looked down Experiencing what ? PP "
"True , true . (Gives a sigh) true love ! There I said it ! " the four girls looked shocked and Isabella was terrified at what she had just heard !so she asked "Phoenix what ! You mean you've never experienced true love before ! There's nothing to be ashamed of and plus you will experience it ! Someday we all will ! Whether it be for a life time or one whole second ! So cheer up hey ! Darrin will notice you some day ! "
"Isabella ! Why would you say that ! Don't you know it's rude to revile that you know that ! " Zender said turns out Zender and Isabella were fake friends of Sia and they both really liked Phoenix . So they filled her in on what Sia was telling them about her at school . And it was really annoying her because she thought she wasn't even interested in Darrin ...."Girls ! Come back inside ! You were the first people to arrive therefore you get an extra 5 points !" Sister French shouted . So the gis took all their things and went to class . They waited about 2 minutes before the others arrived and Elder French started counting all the points ! "Because PP's team actually found a lawyer by the name James and were the first to arrive back plus there is but one item missing ! They win ! Congratulations girls ! " So Petra , Phoenix , Isabella , Zender and Louis were off to the movies on Saturday ! No Seminary for them for 3 days ! Phoenix was glad she didn't have to worry about both her school work and Seminary work for 3 weeks . Sister French gave them their Sundays and they ate merrily , Until ...."hey Cinderella ! I heard Darrin call you that at the dance . I'm sorry about yesterday , it was ..." Phoenix immediately stopped Zack from talking " I want to be in a relationship wih you too Zack , we can make this work so boyfriend of mine , see you tomorrow " she arose and took her things and was out the door with her movie ticket at hand .Zack watched her leave as her felt mixed emotions for what had happened... he was left with a question that only he could answer ... what was to happen now ...
