Chapter 6 :The Dance

Zack and Phoenix became close but Phoenix was very aware of who she hung out with now and kept a safe distance she didn't want the whole Terrence thing repeating itself .
The dance was fast approaching and the couple had already picked out their matching outfits and were all ready for friday night.
Phoenix constantly kept in contact with Zack incase he decided to change his mind about this whole dance thing but no ! Zack came through , he actually came through
The day of the dance came , and as Phoenix was getting ready she got a Phone call from her dad again
"Dad why didn't call ? Its been two weeks since I had spoken to you , is there something wrong ?" Phoenix asked with a worried tone in her voice " oh no ! Honey I was just you know , busy with the whole divorce thing , your mother is really making it hard for me to be with you my love , I have your room all ready for you and now you can't even use it 😕 . Do you have any Idea why Pearl would do this ? She knew how close I am to you ! Your mom is reckless and unfair 😠😠😠 I should have custody for you not her ! And... "
"Dad hold up ! What happened in court and why wasn't I told of the court date , I'm supposed to know this involves me too ! I just don't understand you two anymore , it's like you totally forgot all about me ! Talk to you later dad , I'm going to a dance at school today , if you were ever interested in knowing ...😐😐😐"  she hung up and switched off her phone not even thinking of who was gonna call and why !

So Phoenix was finally ready to go party ! She looked incredible in her white short sweet heart neckline dress with blue diamonds and her pure white heels ,Phoenix had beautiful legs and wasn't afraid to show them . So she curled her hair and waited for Zack ...

The dance had already started and Zack was no where to be seen around Phoenix's house... "honey can I take you ? You can see this Zack fellow did not pitch and we can't let a beautiful person like you miss such a fine event !
"Okay Ouma let's go 😑"
As they were driving to the dance Phoenix couldn't help but feel so stood up ! "Damn Lekazi boys ! All the same !" She thought to herself angrily

Mrs Grover and Phoenix got to the dance with a lot of time to spare , but they were exactly an hour late , so Phoenix got out of the car and thanked her grandma for the lift , glided through the parking lot and into venue of the dance , Phoenix stood by the door scanning the area for Zack but instead caught up with Darrin's eyes , she quickly looked the other way while Darrin kept on Starring at her . "Could this be the night where I be with my Cinderella ? " Darrin thought to himself , he slowly walked up to Phoenix and said to her shy  but calmy "hi , you ahm you ..." "....look stunning is what my cousin is trying to say  , I didn't know you looked so beautiful without your uniform" Terrence interrupted . "Phoenix Isabelle Latu you look awesome , too bad you stood me up !" Phoenix turned to see none other then Zack ,he looked so handsome in his navy blue tux that matched with Phoenix's beautiful dress "I stood you up ! Oh come on ! I waited a whole hour for you at home and you never showed up !😠😠😠😠😠    "wait wait wait wait ! I called and you're phone was off ! Let's not storm off or anything like that ! Why was your phone off ? Did you change your mind about me 😯😯😯 ? ... I ahm I really like you Phoenix and I just can't hide my emotions like that ! I'm sorry but I want us to be more then friends ! I know how you don't want to date guys from Oriental and all but please give this guy a chance , I don't know what it is to say  but I love you " Zack exited the venue so fast you could barely see where he went , he left there ,a very confused Phoenix who didn't know what to think standing with Terrence and Darrin . Darrin wanted to say something but instead of saying it he thought of it . "I love you more then you can possibly imagine , I don't sleep because of you  "  .... "wow you got your hands fool , so what you gonna do about it  ?" Terrence asked " I don't know yet , I take Zack as an older brother to me , I just don't want to lose that aspect of my relationship with him , I can't be something more I just can't , Darrin what do you think I should do ?"
"Personally I say don't go for it ! You'll never know what type of guy lies underneath him , don't date him Phoenix , he'll hurt you !" Darrin stated with worry . A part of Phoenix wanted to believe what Darrin was saying , well generally because the person Phoenix wanted was standing in front of him and before she could say anything she was reminded why ..." Darrin there you are ! I told you not more then 10 inches away from me ! (Noticed Phoenix) you look cute , and your face ! What's your secret , cutie ? " it was non other then Sia looking like a grade A hooker with the shortest dress in the whole dance . What was racing through Phoenix's head was the heavy make up and the fake things which applied , she was purely mortified at the site and also had that compelling feelling of tolerance in her . " I wear no make up ! And I am 100% natural from head to toe "  Sia felt like she was being mocked and decided to take her property and leave with it , leaving  Phoenix all worked up thinking Darrin will never notice her or even think of her . Phoenix went to her friends Ash and Ley and hanged out with them the whole night Ley was more of the crazy one amongst the group of girls and made the others do crazy things the whole night which led to Phoenix forgetting what had happened previously , Phoenix decided to turn her phone on incase Ouma had called her . She saw the 43 voice messages sent by Zack along with the 62 missed calls a well . She felt displeased with her reaction when she saw Zack and felt like sinking , "no phone allowed ! We bout to turn up ! Sober  style !"  Ley shouted ! So Phoenix enjoyed the rest of the night and went home at 23h00 fogetting she had Seminary in the morning ... the question still remains
What will happen with Zack ?
