TIP #10: Know your facts instead of assuming.

Here's what went down yesterday:

Nathan was going doing to the food court to eat lunch. The guy appeared with Tyler in a choke hold and a gun pressed to his temple. Tyler mouths, Run! Nathan just stands there as this random guys yells, "You run and your friend dies!"

Nathan really had no idea what he was thinking. Denny points his gun in Nathan's direction, "Get on the wall."

Nathan slowly backs up to the wall. Chris rounds the corner of the food court. His eyes are as big as saucers. The man turns around, Chris jumps back behind a pillar. The man pulls the trigger multiple times. The sound rings throughout the mall. Chris falls to the floor, "Stop shooting! I don't want to die!"

Chris gets up and walks over. Kylie's scream fills the air, shouting Jack and Nathan's names. The man throws Tyler on the floor. Tyler collapses with an Oof! This stranger fires his gun in the air. "Why are you doing this? We're only kids!" Tyler says

"Because! I want you dead Tyler Boggs! I was put to jail for hurting the man that cheated on my wife. She ended up pregnant, with you!"

His head is turnt. That's when Tyler makes a break for it. He tries to run up the stairs. The man turns and pulls the trigger, "You stupid kids!"

Tyler collapses in pain. He was shot in the shoulder. Tyler lets out a really feminine scream. The guy walks over to Tyler. He grips the arm he was shot in and drags him over to Chris and Nathan. "You try to fight me, you lose! Your parents must be getting worried! Well, not now! Don't mess with Denny Boggs."

Denny fires. It hits the wall between Chris and Nathan, they both swallow hard. Kylie darts across the open balcony. He fires again. The bullet pierces one of the glass panels, shattering it. Kylie disappears before the bullet hits. There is the sound of footsteps down the hallway. Who is that? It's Jocelyn exploring. During this time Orange and Kevin were hiding under a bed, trying not to die.

Then you all know the rest.

But where was Jack during all of this?

"But Kylie, the thing I didn't get was what Chris told me. It just didn't make any sense."

We all are alert when we wake up. Tyler is still sleeping, he's been sleeping for 18 hours now. I sit next to him. My brain is replaying the words he said to me before he fell asleep. I wait for 2 hours. In that time, I read half my zombie book and eat a bowl of dry cereal. Finally, he wakes up. I dash to his side, "How are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling amaz-a-ling."

"Uh, amaz-a-ling? But Tyler, what did Chris say exactly?" I barely whisper.

His eyelids slowly close, again "I'll tell you later."

I sigh, "Okay, get your rest." I run my fingers through his disgustingly greasy hair, picking a dried blood spot, "Don't die on me though."

He smiles, "Go away."

I roll my eyes and stand up. I walk out to the shoe store, where I find Chris, Orange, Kevin, and Nathan creating a shoe box fort. Julian is sitting inside, watching them. "What are you guys doing? And where are Jocelyn and Jack?"

Chris turns around, "Making a shoe box fort. Is Tyler okay?"

Orange butts in, "Kylie, you can really throw knives?"
