The Awakening (Sequel To Unlikely Love)

Chapter 17

Bella's P.O.V.

They have so many newborns. One hundred and we only have fifty of us. We don't stand a chance. We can't possibly beat them with the numbers that we have.

I look around the room and notice my family, which include the guard, standing just alittle bit taller and ready for a fight. I look back at Rose and she's trying to hide the worry in her eyes but I can see through her facade. I look to Alice and there's no hiding the worry in her eyes.

"Well it seems that we have some work cut out for us. Carlisle do you have any old friends that would possibly help us?" I ask him.

"I will check on it Bella." He says and takes off.

I look back to the group. "Okay nice job out there today everybody. So let's get back into the groups that you were in yesterday and start from where you stopped. We will do this for the rest of the day. The group I was with, I'll be with you soon I need to go somewhere real fast and then I'll be back." I say and with that run out of the room.

I run to our room and grab my jacket. I put it on and leave the castle. I go to a lake that I saw on the way here and sit down on the cliff overhanging the water. I skip rocks into the water and just try to relax.

After being there for ten minutes by myself with the wildlife I can smell Jasper coming. I turn around and smile a small smile at him.

"Hey Jasper, there really wasn't any need to come out here. I'm fine, I just need some fresh air." I tell him. Of course it's a lie but I believe that if I keep telling myself that, it'll come true.

"You don't have to lie to me Bella. I know that when you left the castle your emotions were going crazy. So I decided that I would just come out here and let you talk to me." He said and sat down besides me. "We need you now Bella more than ever. We can't have you going into that comatose state again. If you fall apart now the guard won't make it. They are living off of your confidence now Bella so please tell me." He says and wraps an arm around me.

"I'm scared Jaz. I can't be a leader over a race that I don't even know. Gosh I don't even know about my own race and I'm barely making it. So please tell me how I'm supposed to help out yours too. I'm so scared that if I do one thing wrong that it's going to be a body on my hands that got killed. What if I make a bad call, I can kill one of you." I tell him.

"Stop thinking about the what ifs and stop thinking all of that nonsense. You are the best leader that I have ever met and you don't even know about us. I'm going to help you and give you a history lesson about my kind so that you know just alittle more. So please calm down and trust in yourself. Rose is going crazy since you left because she's worried about you and she's worried also. Just remember that you two are the most powerful couple in the whole universe and nothing could possibly beat your power when your together. You two are the whole reason why I know that everything will work out perfectly in two weeks against the ancients. I believe in you and so does everybody else, so it's time for you to believe in yourself." He said. With that he got up and walked back towards the castle.

I sat there for a good twenty minutes trying to calm myself down and believe in myself. It was easier said than done. After those twenty minutes though I did start to believe in myself. I got up from my spot and ran back to the castle.

As soon as i walked through the front doors Rose attacked me. She wrapped me in a hug and wasn't going to let me go so I just picked up her legs and wrapped them around my waist and walked to our room to put my jacket up. After I put my jacket up I walk to the throne room, Rose is still attached to me, and sit in my seat. I'm sitting there overlooking the groups training and learning to control their gifts.

"Hey you know that I'm here now and that I'm okay right. I'm sorry that I took off for a while but I needed to breathe and think about some things. We are going to be alright in this war that we are about to have. We are the most powerful couple that has ever existed and nobody can touch us when we slate both protecting the ones that we love." I tell her.

She looks up at me and kisses me passionately and finally unwraps her legs from around my waist. "I know that we are but sometimes I worry. We are going to be okay I know it." She says and stands up. "Carlisle got a hold of some people and he wants to see you in his office." She says and gives me her hand.

"Okay everyone you can all stop for the day if you want. I'll see you all tomorrow and hopefully I can get some training in with you guys." With that Rose and I leave the throne room and head to Carlisle's study.

We get to the door and knock and hear him say come in. We walk in and see Esme sitting besides him and looking at something. We go up to his desk and I walk over to Esme and hug her. I step back and walk over to Carlisle and hug him and whisper 'I love you dad' in his ear. When I was going to pull away he tightened his grip and squeezed me one more time before letting go. When I looked up he had a smile on his face and he was beaming.

"Okay so I called the people that I know and they all agreed to help us out. There are at least thirty that are coming in and should be in by sometime tomorrow. They agreed right away and would love to meet who the legend was talking about." He said with a smile.

"Thanks Carlisle I really appreciate it." I tell him and return his smile. "So what were you looking at Esme." I ask and try to see what it was.

What I saw terrified me. It was a record of the tumor in my brain. I looked at the date on the picture and it was from my recent 'sleep'. By the looks of it the tumor has grown again.

"Bella I'm sorry to say but the tumor has started to grow again..." That's all I heard before I blacked out.
