Poetic Authors

I envy authors.
I envy their ability to put their thoughts into writing,
To mimic emotions with the power of a page.

I am young
I am confused.
And not quite sure about who I will be when I grow up.
But I know what I want.

I want the power to make those in pain be whole.
To make a difference for those living in hell
And make them see what heaven holds.

I want to rewrite myself,
make my horror story turn into a fairytale.
Where there is no danger.
No fear.

I want my pencil to hold power,
A wand created just for me.
Where I can fix what is broken,
Because sometimes I am broken myself.

I am a scared child;
Whimsically dreaming of writing her problems away.
And I think that's what other authors do.

Write themselves a better story.
So I, too, shall be a character
Of my own forgotten tale.
