Forgetting My Heart In You

I promise it wasn't my fault
I swore under the sun that only the moon would see me cry
But it looks like that promise won't be kept after all
For now I'm sobbing in bright daylight

There are parts of me the want us to be over
Different days, a different man
So I can live a new life and figure out
Who I really am

I have been a scavenger
Begging for a love that's true
For years and months my heart lied to me
Whispering in my ears that it was you.

Did I think it was wise to forget my feelings?
To zip my lips and hush my words?
In the end, I should have listen to others when they said:
"You receive the love you think you deserve".
