My Highschool Sonnet
Was it the day I tried to kill myself?
Or the day that I tried to run away?
Was it the day I talked to no one else?
That made you love me and decide to stay.
Maybe it was the way I loved you back.
Or how I understood a broken heart,
For I helped to fill in all of those cracks
And you saved me from more deadly scars.
There is a war in my head that you ease
That no one else has ever done before
Just by holding my hand and kissing me
You magically defeat my inner wars
So tell me everything will be okay
And in my heart you shall forever stay.
