I walked up to the five bowls, symbolizing each faction. Candor, Erudite, Dauntless, Abnegation, and Amity. I look back at the girl with honey blond curls and a blue dress, and she frowns, somehow knowing what I am going to choose.

Wait wait wait.

Are you just getting here? You don't know the beginning of my story, do you? Anyway, let me backtrack to yesterday...

Hi!

I'm Perseus Jackson. I live in Candor, the faction that never holds their tongue, speaks their mind and doesn't care about other people's opinions. And we call it, being honest. If I had been talking out loud, I would've been gritting my teeth together.

"Perseus! Get your clothes on and get out of bed! Your going to be late sweetie!" My mom says from downstairs in the kitchen. We live in a two story apartment, in Candor.

But there's one thing you should know about me.

I stuck at telling the truth. I can't tell the truth for my life. I've only been under the truth serum once, and I'm so bad it didn't even work!

Today I am sixteen, and I choose my new faction. That's right. I know my aptitude test won't come out to Candor, why would it? Maybe Erudite, or Abnegation. I don't know what else I could choose.

I get up and heave the covers off my white bed, the color of Candor. I trudge through the lake of clothes around ankle deep that crowds most of my room. I lazily grab a white shirt, some white jeans, and run my hands through my messy jet black hair a few times. I run to the mirror, not really caring what I look like, but I kind of have to look nicer than usual because today I take the aptitude test, and tomorrow I chose.

I smooth my shirt out, and pick up the hair brush that is covered in dust and cobwebs. I frown at it, and put it back down. Who needs it? I run out of my room, and down the spiral stairs. When I was a kid, I used to run up and down them all day for exercise.

"Guess what I made for you Perseus?" Asks my mom. I grin at the sight of 10 blue pan cakes stacked up dripping maple syrup. I practically dive into the chair and shovel the pancakes into my mouth.

"Thwanks Mwom," I say as I eat. She smiles and nods sadly, knowing this may be my last breakfast eating blue pancakes with her.

I wipe my mouth with my white sleeve, which is now stained with a small blue patch. I laugh a little and pick up my plate bringing it to the sink. I scrape my plate and the tiny crumbs that remain into the trash can. I set my plate down in the sink and sigh. That was probably the last time I'll be doing that in my household.

"Perseus honey, time to go for your test," says my mom, walking towards me. She reaches out and embraces me into a hug. I hug her tighter than ever before.

My dad disappeared right after I was born, so I've never met him. My mom had a boyfriend who mistreated her like crazy, an I drove him out, resulting in charges to our two person family now...

"I'll see you after the test mom," I say, and run out the door to catch the bus to school. Where I will discover my faction. My new faction.

Hey guys! Amber here. I'm sooo excited for this new book. This is my original idea so please don't take it. I'm sure someone else has done this type of thing before but I didn't take the idea from anyone. Hope you enjoy the book and please don't be a silent reader.
