The ranks are final. After Luke's death, the last factionless to be taken out of dauntless after the first initiation, Calypso, got to come back. She returned with Leo, who mysteriously went missing for a week. Finally, maybe, we can get some peace. We are officially part of dauntless, thank gods. It's been two weeks of more fears, and thank gods no ones confronted me or anyone else about divergence. Annabeth decided to work in the control room, while I will be a initiate instructor.

Annabeth and I head to the pit, where we sit at the edge, watching the water roar beneath us. I hold her hand, and she looks over at me, blushing.
"I...I love you Annabeth," I whisper. She grins at me, and I pull her into a kiss.
"Lets leave all the crazy stuff behind Wise Girl, agreed?" I whisper as we pull away.
"Agreed, Seaweedbrain," she says, and then we sit in a welcomed silence, looking over the edge. I stiffen when I hear a voice I recognize behind us.
"Got it, Lord. I'll have them taken care of right away," the voice says. I spin around to see Ethan N, in his eyepatch, with no weapons. He is holding a walkie-talkie. He grins at me, and before I can launch myself at him, he springs forward and pushes Annabeth into the pit. She screams as she tumbles over the edge, and grabs a rock at the last second.
"No!" I yell, and grab her free hand. Some rocks tumble to next to her.
"The divergent is taken care of now, the boy will go with her, just a spare," he says. I yell in frustration as Annabeth's hand starts to slip out of mine.
But I won't let her go.
I look back and Ethan just smirks, and walks off. I yell at him but he ignores me.
"I will never let you go Wise Girl, I love you, I say. She looks up at me with sad eyes, and let's go of my hand, I scream as she plummets down.
Then I jump in after her.
