Chapter Nine
Rosie's pov
"You're going to America!?" Ellie yells so that the whole cafeteria hears.
"Yes now sit down and shut up" I hiss as I pull her hand down.
"Sorry..." Ellie says.
"You did say it kinda loud, El." Cameron points out.
"It's ok, I'm leaving tomorrow so it won't matter anyway." I say.
"How long?" Leila quietly asks.
"Two weeks." I say sheepishly.
"Two weeks?!?" Ellie yells again.
"Ellie! Keep it down!" I say to her.
"Sorry." She says as she sits down quickly. I can tell my friends aren't too thrilled about me leaving.
"I'll FaceTime you guys." I offer.
"But that's not the same." Karly complains.
"Guys, why are you complaining? It's a big deal to go to America and we should be happy for Rose." Alphie says.
"Thanks Alph." I say.
"Sorry." Karly mumbles.
Then the bell rings so I get up to throw away the rest of my lunch.
"Hey Ro, can we talk quick?" Cameron grabs my wrist as I'm about to leave.
"Uhh, sure." I say.
Cameron takes me into the gymnasium because it is free of people. He turns to look at me and takes my hands in his.
"I'll miss you." He says to me. "I know you don't like me that much... but you're just so perfect I can't resist." This makes my heart melt.
"Cameron... no... I don't feel that way about you." I say, and I'm actually telling the truth.
"Good... because..." He never gets to finish his sentence because then his lips meet mine.
