Life Changing (One-Shot)

Hello, I made the decision to rewrite this one-shot but the old one is still at the end of this. Welcome to seeing how my writing has changed and I'm sure in like two years I'm going to be cringing all over again, but you know there's only so much one can do. I hope you enjoy. (look out for updated author notes they're all in bold)

Cora sat with her back against the bathroom wall looking at the little white stick in her hand, shock filling her eyes. She never knew her life could change that quickly; with one little symbol on a stick. How could she tell Ashton? They never discussed what they would do regarding kids other than he knew he wanted to settle down one day. Neither of them would expect that "one day" was less than a year after that conversation went down.

Cora looks up at the ceiling and takes a deep breath. This was going to be a lot to discuss and some big news to drop. She already felt nauseous from the morning sickness but the thought of telling her fiancé made her feel worse. Cora heard shuffling outside the door before Ashton spoke up "Hey babe you okay in there?"

She stands up from the floor, dropping the pregnancy test into one of the drawers in their sink. Taking a deep breath, Cora opened the door. "Yeah I'm good."

"Cora are you sure about that? I mean you are crying"

It wasn't until Ashton mentioned she was crying before Cora realise that she had streams of tears running down her face. Ashton looked concerned into his fiancée's eyes before wiping the tears off her cheeks, cradling her face in his large hands.

"I- I-I'm okay... fuck I'm not okay..."

Ashton rubbed the side of Cora's cheek with his thumb "what's wrong baby?"

Cora closed her eyes in fear, a shaky breath was drawn in before the two words slipped out of her mouth. "I'm pregnant"

One of Ashton's hand fell to Cora's shoulder and all she could think was this is it; here it comes. Him telling her to get out, that he never wanted to she her again. That he hated her and how could she do this to him.

"Cora, I love you so much, shit I love you so fucking much."

Cora's eyes shot open and looked at Ashton's face. He was still caressing one side of her face, and his eyes had tears threatening to spill over. His dimples were showing from the wide smile across his face.

Ashton pulled her close and kissed Cora sweetly. "There's no one else in this world that I'd rather have a baby with then you"

The fear left her entire body and all Cora could think was how lucky she was. To have this man holding her close, a baby to grow their family with, and knowing that she could relax into this new journey they'd go on together. Ashton rocked them slowly in their bedroom, kissing Cora on the top of her head; his hand running up and down on her back, both of them ready for this new life.

That's the end of the rewritten version so now be warned that the next version is way worse and more cringe-worthy. Have a good day y'all!

How were you going to tell him? How? You were pregnant and scared that he would leave you.

Ashton furrowed his eyebrows at your respond "what?"

"Baby... That's what's wrong"

"Y/n, you aren't making any sense"

You closed your eyes in fear out of what his facial expression would be once the two words slipped out of your mouth. "I'm pregnant"

Ashton's hand fell to your shoulder and you thought this was it. Here it was coming. The words of his saying he never wanted to see you again.

"I love you so fucking much babe"

Your eyes shot open and looked at Ashton's smiling face. He was happy. Not upset. He was fucking happy!

Ashton pulled you close and kissed you sweetly. "There's no one else in this world that I'd rather have a baby with then you"

The scared feelings left your entire body and excitement soon filled. You and Ashton were going to be parents! Before you knew it you'd have a little one running around and boy you couldn't wait.
