Um... so I'm sorry in advance...

Ily I promise I don't try to be evil.

_______

Tears were streaming down her face, the thought of him like that broke her heart. Her body was on fire and her thoughts were the first to go up in flames. If only her tears could douse them and fix what went wrong.

She sat at the end of the pew in the crowded church, listening to the preacher tell the whole room how much of a good person he was. How everyone loved him and how he made everyone's day better. How much of a difference he made in this world.

But now... now it was all over, he was gone. Forever, he wasn't coming back and that was the truth. It hurt like hell and no one wanted to believe it. They all were waiting for him to pop out of the back of the church doors and yell surprise. No, Ashton Irwin was gone.

The casket on the stage behind the preacher held the curly haired brunet's pale body. His pretty hazel eyes were closed and his hands were folded together resting on his stomach. A set of drumsticks were placed in the casket with him and several pictures of multiple different people with Ashton.

When the preacher finished with his speech he called up Luke who would be giving the eulogy. Luke's eyes were red from crying and every other word you could hear his sniffles. Not one soul in the church had a dry eye. The words affected everyone, especially her.

Her sobs were starting, soon they'd become wails. Michael and Calum would hold her as the distressed girl was unable to hold herself together anymore. No one judged her for how she was acting, as it was expected that the widow would have one of the hardest times.

Luke visibly shook and stuttered as he would try to finish his words but in the end he broke down too. The last words to leave his lips were "he was too young, too loved, and too strong to go like this. Ashton was a husband, a best friend, and a soon to be father. No one should go like that, ever."

He moved down to where Michael and Calum were with y/n. He didn't want to be up there anymore not when there was a widow who needs all the love she could get.

The service had ended and the mourners were let out. Ashton's family and closest friends were the only ones that stayed. To say their final goodbyes before he was taken down to the graveyard.

One by one they stepped up to the casket, when it got to y/n being the last one to go up. She reached forward and traced her finger along his face knowing it was the last time she would ever see him. She sucked in a breath and caressed her slightly swollen belly.

Kissing the top of his head, the widow moved back and went into Luke's arms. Being led towards the doors, Luke took her out to the car and helped her get situated. Her face buried in her hands, the wedding ring on her finger feeling heavier than ever. Ashton's first wedding band was strung through a chain that was around her neck now as it always was but now with a more important meaning to it.

Ashton's coffin was placed in the hearse and the procession to the graveyard had begun. Y/n thought back to when Ashton proposed telling her that it was the beginning of the rest of their lives together but now it was cut short and the end came quicker than anyone expected.

The end of one chapter in her life ended in one of the most painful ways possible but the door to the new beginning was opened in a way that would change her life.
