Aquatic Adventures for the Non-Pregnant

by Mya

The babies stayed in Mama for all of Christmas and for the New Year celebrations.

Very early in January, Daniel and Mya finally went to see the Mermaid Aquabella Aquatic Adventure Centre. It was a very cold day, so Topaz decided to stay at home with Mama and Adam and Amanda-Alessandra. Snowflakes started falling before we arrived.

The café staff were very excited.

"It's snowing! And you know what that means! Free tea and toast for everyone!"

Free toasts!

With spreads and jams!

After we had eaten, we went to the costume section. Daniel was VERY keen to buy Mya to a nice outfit with a hair-flower and a flower-garland.

"El Ven safety?" I asked, remembering Alison's warnings against wearing necklaces in water and and anywhere unusual.

The nice lady showed me that it had a quick-release magnetic clasp. If it got caught on anything, it would come unfastened.

"I will have to help you put the costume on," said Daniel. "We will have to be in the same cubicle in the changing room."

"But Mya is used to Earth clothes."  I was surprised. But that was not what Daniel meant at all!

Then Daniel put Mya's arm bands on to her arms and a flotation band around her waist and we went into the water. Which was lovely and warm. Mya went to an aqua gymnastical class whilst Daniel just swam about a bit. For a while, Daniel and some very brave people sat around in an outside pool whilst snow fell on their heads!  This is foo-lish.

(Daniel later told me that he had had to get used to hot and cold weather before they would send him to Mya's home.  Why?  It is usually neither very hot nor very cold in Sandar, and also in Tannar!)

Then we went to a nice, hot pool in the nice inside and just sat there and talked for a while. With clothes firmly on!

Then we came out, showered, dried off and went to the café to eat stewed vegetables followed by cake.

Midnight and Carla came to talk to us. They told us that Daniel's sister Cin had been to aqua karaoke. Twice.

"Did she ask for a discount because of being my sister? Daniel asked. "I hope you didn't indulge her, but I will reimburse you if you did."

"No. Not at all."

Daniel looked surprised.

"She donated to our 'Water for All' fund," said Carla.  "She was very generous."

Both sisters were very excited about their Four Elements Circus project and wanted to tell us all about it.

"Now I have seen the ceiling fixtures, I can see how the trapezes fit into the picture," Daniel said. "Although I still have some queries about health and safety. And how on Earth, and where does Earth fit in anyway, are you going to manage to involve fire pois?"

Whilst Midnight and Carla answered this question, which Mya barely understands, Mya played with Midnight's children. Aquabella was a bit sleepy. Mermaid was full of energy. She loves swimming and wants to compete in competition swimmings. You would never know she had Drowns Symptoms.

Amber says I should tell you what everything looked like. The cake looked delicious and tasted delicious. It was cherry and chocolate flavour.

The changing room was peach and aqua and decorated in art deco style. The toilets had beautiful green and aquamarine and turquoise tiles. The water in the pool looked blue, although it was not.
