The Duchess sat at the table drinking tea with Queen Victoria in the drawing room. Her long light brown hair, which contrasted with her odd violet eyes, trailed down her back in loose ringlets. The queen read the paper. On the headline read 'Mysterious Murderer Strikes Again' along with a picture of the deceased. A young woman with black hair and dark brown eyes, Amelia recognized her.

"Dear god...He's killing woman!" The queen shrieked. "Oh Millie what if he comes after you!" She pointed at Amelia, which seemed unaffected, and continued to sip her tea. "Geesh, aunt 'Toria, relax, some commoner won't come after me" Amelia picked up the butter knife at the table and swished it around. "I'd finish him off before he lays a hand on me!" she yelled in triumph.

"My dear, you're not fit to fight a man could easily snap your neck in half!" Victoria protested. "Maybe I should hire someone to protect you." Amelia was shocked at her aunt's statement. "Aunt 'Toria, I'm no child. I can fend him of myself!" She said emphasizing the butter knife still in her hand.

"Amelia you're nineteen! And you're a lady! We do not fight, we are damisels in distress, ready to be rescued by a charming prince." Victoria answered to her niece, which seemed annoyied. "Aunt 'Toria! I've been able to throw knives since I could hold one!" she protested "I don't need some idiot in shinning armour!"

"Exactly! You don't!" Queen Victoria stood from the table, an idea had come to her head.

Amelia stared at her with a confused look. "W-what?"

Victoria walked over to the door. "You don't need a prince" She waved her hand in dismiss. "You need a watchdog!" The queen said before storming out of the door, leaving Amelia alone, with the butter knife still in her hand.

"Young Master, tell me again, who is this 'Amelia' person you speak of?" Ciel looked up at his butler, who sat across him in the carriage. "This is no person, Sebastian. This is the Duchess of Bedford." he answered.

"Uh..."

Ciel sighed. "When she was fourteen, Amelia had her parents killed in a fire, just like I did, only that everyone suspected that she had done it, everyone except her aunt, the queen. And the queen influences...well everything, so they forgot about it, but there are some people that still believe otherwise."

"Amelia is called Duchess of Bedford, since her mother died, but she won't be officially crowned duchess until she gets married."

"Oh, I see..."

The carriage came to a halt, meaning that they had finally arrived at the queen's palace.

After a couple of narrow corridors, double doors and dimly lit rooms Ciel and Sebastian both arrived at the queen's drawing room. The queen sat at a large desk in the middle of the room. Bookshelves lined the walls and a large red carpet with two armchairs sat in the middle. (Something like Ciel's office).

"My, hello my dear boy!" the queen said cheerfully and opened her hands."Hello ma'am" Ciel answered. "You called for me?" He asked.

"My yes my dear, I wish to talk to you about the recent murders" she said and assigned Ciel to sit down.

"Ah yes, that is an ongoing investigation" Ciel answered as he took a seat on the armchair on the other side of the desk. His butler behind him.

"Well, you see I am worried that this maniac could come after my dear niece Amelia" the queen continued to worry "She's ruthless and says she can take care of herself but that's not true...That's why I've called you here for." The queen smiled.

Ciel already knew where this was going."H-how come? I don't understand"

"I wish for you to protect Amelia, while you solve the murders" she said. "It's that simple"

Ciel, unable to refuse the queen's request sighed and answered: "Yes ma'am, I will take care of your niece"

"Thank you so much my boy" The queen said as she sat up and hugged Ciel "I knew I could trust you." She whispered in his ear, and they broke apart.

"I assume you don't mind Amelia staying at your manor do you?" she asked Ciel.

"Oh, n-no ma'am." Ciel said. He was clearly nervous, Amelia was an odd person, childish for her age and he had only met her once, and now she was moving in...Lord have mercy...

"Good" Victoria answered, and turned to Sebastian. "My, Sebastian, do you mind fetching Amelia?"

"Not at all my Lady" Sebastian said with a bow and turned to the door.

Sebastian walked through the long corridor. He reached the door to Amelia's room and knocked. He heard a muffled 'Come in' and opened the door.

Amelia sat in a chair beside her bed reading a copy of some old book. Sebastian was astonished at her beauty, her full pink lips, her light brown ringlets and what surprised him the most, her bright violet eyes...

She looked up from her book with a surprised face. "You're not my maid." was the only thing she said.

Sebastian composed himself "Er, no miss I am a butler in service to the Lord Phantomhive, I was sent here to bring you to the queen's office" Sebastian said with a small bow.

Amelia raised her eyebrows, but said nothing. She closed the book in her hands and stood up from the chair.

The pair slowly returned to the queen's office.

When they arrived, Sebastian opened the door for her. She gladly entered.

"You called for me? Aunt 'Toria?" Amelia asked.

The queen nodded. "Millie, this is Ciel Phantomhive, the Earl of Phantomhive and my trustworthy watchdog"

"Uhm"

Ciel smiled awkwardly.

"Do I know you? Because, you seem to ring a bell, but-"

"Off course you know him Millie!" The queen interrupted.

"Uhm" Amelia sighed "So, what do I have to do with al this?"

"Due to the recent murders, you will be taken to the Phantomhive Estate, the young Master has been assigned to protect you" Sebastian spoke from behind her.

She turned around to face him. He only smiled. She stood quiet for a while, thinking, finally Amelia sighed. "Fine then..."

After Amelia had packed her things and sad her goodbyes, Sebastian helped her into the carriage. "I hope you understand, it's for your best."

Amelia only smiled back.

Sebastian shut the carriage door and hoped onto the driver's seat. He clicked the horse's reins and set off to the manor with this idiotic smiled plastered on his face. But little did he know, things where taking a turn for the worse.
