Doing Things My Way

My mind is traveling, trying it's best to recover what was lost. I'm soaring through the sky ok the skeletal dragon I borrowed from Ebon Hold. The darkening sky is falling asleep as the bright sun slowly hides beneath the surface. I have my own agenda to fulfill now. My curiosities revolving around my flashback has me seeking for the truth. And when I find it I will be prepared for vengeance.

Finally, I see the abandoned castle on the isle, it awaits for guests to arrive to relieve it of its lonesome. The only ones that live there are the ghastly beings still surviving. The Banshee Kingdom is right before my eyes, waiting for me to take a step inside. It's not often that they have guests. Occasionally, I would travel here during some of more darkest times. The spirits relaxed me and were always good towards me.

I prepare myself for a landing as I approach the surface of the isle. Safely, I land my mount and get off it. Readying myself for the worse -- I take my bow out and place an arrow against the string. I open the corridor door and step inside. I hear the wailing cries echoing through the halls. Listen closely and you can even hear the movement of the spirits and the mutters of their whispers.

"It is I, Sylvanas. I'm back, my old friends." I say, loudly.

Moments of silence pass by without a sign of any spirits coming out of hiding. Usually, I'm already greeted by a banshee. Something must be wrong. They have always been there for me and now is my turn to return the favor.

"You need not to be afraid. I'm here for all of you, I am your friend, Sylvanas. Please, come out of the dark and let me help." I say.

After a few more seconds of depressing silence a banshee pops into my line of sight. I swing my bow around my back and slide my arrow back into the quiver. I'm not a threat to these poor souls. I slowly walk towards the banshee as I do it opens up and comes to me.

"Mother Theresa is dying. Sylvanas, you have changed... surrounded by darkness controlled by a wicked king. We are devastated... Please, aid us like we've helped you so many times." The banshee says, their voice filled with sadness.

I follow the banshee down the dark hall. As I take each step I can feel their pain even more. The levels are through the roof, I don't have a clue how they bare this pain. The banshee goes through the door, I open it and continue following her. All banshees are females, men turn into wraiths. Once they were lonely lost souls living their dark life and when their time came death gave them a new way to live.

Hundreds of banshees surround the throne in room. I walk into the crowd and kneel before Mother Theresa. She taught me the true difference between right and wrong. It was as if she was another mother for me. We always look out for our own. Now I'm seeing the true pain and sorrow in her eyes as her final time approaches.

"Mother Theresa, I'm here. What is happening to you? You can't die!" I say, sadness filling the tone of my voice.

"It's just my time... It has come sooner than expected, my child. I know you can overcome his power... Believe in yourself and remember what we've taught you. Don't you worry about me now." Mother Theresa says.

"No, no, no. Why are you doing this? This can't be true... You're going to live through another day, you will!" I say, beginning to tear up.

"Take care of them, Sylvanas. I know what he has asked of you. I wouldn't want anyone else to take the part. This is your family now..." Mother Theresa says, brushing her hand against my face.

Even though I couldn't physically feel her touch the emotion level brought the touch alive. I remember the time Mother Theresa showed me the dimension of the spirit world, everything is viewed completely differently there. You learn valuable lessons that will help you find who you really are. My eyes have seen so much -- tremendous amounts of pain, happiness, death, life, and love. This moment is the perfect example of true love, she always told by myself even when I wasn't looking she was there and now I'm here for her last breaths.

Mother Theresa disconnects her eye contact with me and looks up at the sky. I watch her wisp float slowly up into the air. There's a gap in the roof above us where you have a perfect view of the moon. Mother Theresa's soul travels to the end of her road and disappears into the air. I bow my head as tears stream down my face creating a pond around my knees. The banshees surround around me wailing as they stared at the moon, saying their last goodbye.

I stand up and keep the tears on my face. I am not embarrassed to show my pain. This is my family. And I am their queen.

"We have experienced a painful death tonight. A disconnection that is stronger than no other before. So many memories have been shared with our beloved Mother Theresa. She was always there for us, nurturing us, teaching us, and loving us. She shall never be forgotten. The one thing we can hold onto is what she taught us. We are a family and we shall stand before each side by side until death. I am proud to say that I am your queen. I would have it no other way. Our lands are being threatened and destructed by a wicked man that needs to be stopped. His name is Arthas, but now he is known as the Lich King. He believes he can turn us into his puppets. I say no to this matter! We are our own beings! No one can control us! Will you stand by me? Will you fight for us all? Will you be my family?" I say, proudly and emotionally, putting tons of enthusiasm into it.

"There's no one we'd rather stand by, my Banshee Queen. Together we shall stand and together we shall fall." A banshee says.

"Yes!" The rest of them chant.
