I had went to meet up with Hermione at our usual spot to go to class to see her as a mess. Her eyes were blood-shot, didn't look like she had slept in weeks. Her clothes were matted, her hair looked more scattered then usual. And her overall presence, she looked depressed.
"Hey," I said as I walked over to her. "You okay?"
"Hagrid and Buckbeak lost the case," she said as a few tears slipped out. I bit my lip. I knew she had been trying to help so bad. She had been going nonstop and was possibly more stressed than me.
"I know you worked hard for Buckbeaks case but-"
"Malfoy's dad frightened the Committee into it," she said wiping her eyes. "You know what he's like. They're a bunch of doddery old fools, and they were scared. They'll be an appeal though, there always is. Only I can't see hope... Nothing will have changed."
I felt my blood boil. Malfoy. It was his fault. If he didn't walk up to Buckbeak, he wouldn't have scared him and he wouldn't have scratched his arm.
"Hermione, let's get going," I said as she put the necklace around my neck and took us to the class before. "Okay, so this is the class we have with Malfoy right?"
"Nova you're not-"
"I am! I don't give a shit-"
"Nova! If you do anything he'll end up putting you on trial! You know his father doesn't like you!"
"I don't care anymore!" I said as she looked to me.
"Calm down, your eyes are red."
"They always are now!" I screamed as I shrugged her off and headed up the hill to go to class.
Surprisingly I didn't go off on Draco. I had calmed myself down. I tried my best to make myself quiet when he would talk to me. I couldn't even look at him I was so disgusted.
"Nova, what's the matter? Why won't you-"
"Shut up, won't you? I'm doing my work," I hissed working on my Transfiguration paper.
"Nova, is there something wrong? I thought we were-"
"Leave me alone, Malfoy," I hissed as he looked in my eyes and backed away. My eyes must have been red once more. Draco knew me more than almost anyone at this school including Fred.
After class, I had some time with Fred to clear my mind as we went to the bank little ways from the castle.
"You know you shouldn't be out here," Fred said, "Black had been out and about this semester, he could just sneak up behind and-"
Fred grabbed me behind and tickled me as I jumped.
"-grab you!"
"Freddie!" I shrilled as I turned to face him. I kissed him and smiled.
"Why aren't you around all the time? You always seem to calm me down!" I laughed as he shook his head.
"You have classes, I have classes," he laughed.
"Well, after school if I ever need you, you have to calm me down, you know-"
"When were married," Fred blurted as I stiffened.
"Yes--- when-- when we're married."
Was it weird to talk about marriage only one year in? Was I making too big of a deal with this? I never knew if I would marry him, I mean I loved him, bug I don't ever think we would be the two to get married.
"Did I say something?" He said as I bit my lip.
"No," I said shaking my head.
"Well, this may be a horrible time to say it, but Nova Potter-"
