I threw myself on the couch next to Danny and Darren.

“So what are we going to do?” I asked but just as I said that, the phone rang.

I picked it up. “Hello?”

“Hey there, Annie.”

“Who-“

“Shut up, you know who this is.” Melinda spat.

“Where’s-“

“I’m getting there!” She yelled.

I stayed quiet.

“Get what’s left of the two packs and meet us where you guys were training.” She said and hung up.

“Who was that?” Danny curiously asked.

I didn’t know if I should tell them or not. Maybe I could just go meet her myself and hopefully, somehow, kill her?

“Anne?” Danny asked, now he was sensing something was wrong. Now I was going to have to tell him.

“It was Melinda and she wants us to meet her in the training area.” I said not making eye contact with Danny; I knew if I looked at him, I’d see pain in his eyes.

“Does she have the packs with her?” Darren asked with an uncomfortable look on his face.

“She didn’t say. She just told me to get what’s left of us and meet her there.” I had a bad feeling about this.

“Then let’s go!” Billy said.

Danny stood up and walked to the door. He noticed no one was following so he said  “Well? C’mon.”

All of us followed him without a word. No words were needed. We all knew what had to happen and who we needed to kill. One mission, one target.

We all shifted and sprinted to the training grounds, deep in the forest.

I wasn’t completely comfortable going. I haven’t known Melinda long, but I know enough to know that she has something up her sleeve. She always does.

“Guys, can you please be careful. I’m sure she has some trap or something set up.” I warned them.

“Relax, Anne.” Darren said.

“No, she’s right. Melinda isn’t stupid, she’s going to have something set up. She knows she can’t take us all.” Chase told him.

As we approached the training area, we all slowed down and looked around, cautiously.

We entered the area, and looked around. No one was there.

Suddenly, Melinda slowly walks out from behind a huge tree.

“Hello, hello.” She said with an evil grin.

I growled and took a step forward, everyone else remained still and Melinda took a step forward.

“Relax, there’s no trap. I just want to talk.” She said still smiling.

“No trap my ass.” Grant mumbled.

“Annie, I just want to talk. I suggest you listen to me, remember I’ve got your mate.”

“Don’t listen to her.” Darren told me.

I listened to Darren and stayed wolf.

“If you won’t listen I’ll just kill him.”

I automatically shifted. “You keep your hands off my mate!” I snarled.
