Anne's POV
It’s my last day at the hospital. I’m so glad I can finally leave this depressing place. The pack has been really busy and they won’t tell me what’s wrong because Danny thinks I’ll worry too much. Him not telling me worries me even more!
“How are you feeling?” I heard some guy ask. I didn’t recognize him all at.
“Who are you?” I asked.
“Someone. Somebody that’s here under Alpha orders to take you.”
“Danny sent you?”
“Yup.” He said popping the p.
“How do I know-“
As I began to say that he pulling his sleeve up revealing his Fire Stone pack tattoo. All the pack members, except me had one.
“Alright.” I said and got up. The sharp pain in my side begun and I dropped to the floor in pain. I was good enough to leave, but still hurt.
“I got you.” The guy said and lifted me off the floor. He carried me out of the hospital and in his car. He put me in the passenger seat and helped me buckle up. Then he got into the driver’s seat and started the car up. He left the hospital parking lot and instead of turning right, the direction of the pack house, he turned left.
“Where are you going? The pack house is that way!” I said.
“We aren’t meeting them at the pack house. Just, trust me here.” He said calmly.
“Where are you taking me!?” I yelled.
He took out his phone and dialed a number.
“Hey, she’s freaking out. Okay…” he said into the phone. He handed me the phone.
“Hello?” I said
“Hey Anne.” The person on the other line says. It sounded like Danny.
“Danny, please tell me what the hell is happening?!”
“Look, Anne, there isn’t much time. I can’t stay on the phone. Just please, trust me. Listen to James okay?”
“Alright…”
He hung up and I handed the phone back to James.
“Do you know what’s going on?”
“Yes…but…”
“But?! No “buts” tell me!”
“I can’t, Alpha’s orders.” I frowned.
The rest of the ride was silent. James turned the car off the road and stopped in front of the forest. He got out of the car and walked over to my side. He opened my door and lifted me up.
“Think you can shift?” he asked.
“Doubt it.” I replied. He frowned and continued to walk into the forest. He walked a good 8 miles and stopped. He put me on a large boulder and shifted. Soon the whole pack came out from around the trees. I hadn’t really seen all of them in wolf form before so I stared for a while.
Danny shifted.
“Anne, we have to leave.” He said with no emotion in his voice.
“What? Why?” I asked.
“We were attacked by another pack. They killed so many of us…” he trailed off with disgust in his voice.
“Oh my god, which pack?”
“The Grey Forest pack.” Those four words killed me. My pack was here? My mate was here? This day couldn’t get any worse. I just sat there looking at the ground with a blank expression. They could have easily smelt my scent. They know I’m here.
