I got back home and saw Kyla sitting in front of the tv with a excited expression. She was wearing a white tank top and my black Nike shorts.
"Hey Ky, sorry I've been out all day I was just running some errands"
She looked up from the tv that was currently showing one of those lifetime movies.
"Oh it's fine, I was just watching this movie! And Ari when I tell you it is soooo good!"
Kyla was smiling and grabbing popcorn from the bowl sitting beside her.
I stood there for about 10 seconds trying to figure out what was going on. Why Kyla was all of a sudden so....full of life.
"Umm kyla...are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm actually feeling pretty good "
I walked over and sat next to her taking a hand full of popcorn.
"Oh okay that's good, so what's the movie about?"
Kyla paused the movie and turned over looking at me ready to give a full on summary of what's happened so far .
"Okay so it's about this guy who goes to this woman's house to ask if he could use her phone, she thinks he's all charming and all until he starts to torture her and her kids"
"Wow, well I wanna watch it from the beginning so I'll watch it tomorrow"
I got up and went to the kitchen for a drink.
Kyla got up after me letting popcorn fall from off of her.
"Oh well I don't wanna watch the rest without you so.. what you wanna do?"
I really wanted to know what happened while I was gone to make her so different. Or why she was acting like her normal self.
"Ummm idk we can go somewhere if you want"
"Oooo sure, we should go to Main Event!"
Main Event was Kyla's favorite place to go on a good night.
"Sounds like a plan"
I got a water from the fridge and pulled out my phone while Kyla went to go change.
Ari: Hey me and Kyla are going to Main Event, you wanna go?
Izzy: nah me and Mya ordered pizza and are having a Netflix night...what are y'all going for?
Ari: I really don't know...when I got home she was just her regular self, seeming as if nothing bad was going on right now.
Izzy: interesting
Ari: yeah I know, but I'll talk to you later, I love you 💘
Izzy: I love you too chicken nugget ❤️ have fun😎
Kyla came back down looking like a complete goddess compared to me.

"Wow Kyla you look...amazing!"
"Yeah I know"
She did a little twirl.
Yup, this is the regular Kyla.
"You ready?"
"Yeah but um can we stop by to see Braylon first..."
"Sure"
"Okay, thank you"
We got in the car and there was never a dull moment from the house to the hospital. It was just great.
We walked in and went straight to the elevator.
When we got to the room we saw that Braylon was sitting up watching tv.
"Hey look, my two favorite girls"
Me and Kyla looked at each other and starting laughing. I don't even know why.
"Hey Braylon, how you holding up?"
Kyla said pulling up a chair to the bed.
He let out a sigh and lowered the volume on the tv.
"I'm okay, I feeling better than yesterday, but um where do you think you're going looking like that ? You better go put some clothes on!"
"Bray I have clothes on."
He looked down and mumbled.
"Barely"
I stood on the side of the bed looking up at the tv.
"So Ari, how you been?"
I looked back at him and smiled a little.
"good, thank you"
There was a minute of silence with nothing but the tv playing quietly.
"Braylon....who did this to you?"
I really wasn't thinking when I asked that, it just came out.
It took him a second to answer and I was really regretting asking.
"I don't know"
"What do you mean?!"
Kyla blurted out, causing me and Braylon to look at her because her eyes were glued to her phone for the past 5 minutes.
"I don't remember anything from that night, I just remember it was dark and I was walking home from my homeboys house.....then a black van pulled up beside me asking me where a boy named Chris Parker was."
"Chris Parker?"
Me and Kyla both said at the same time.
"Yea, I told them I didn't know who or where he was....next thing I know I'm laying in a hospital bed."
I wanted more answers. I didn't know why I wanted to know who did this so bad...It just felt right.
"Did you see any faces"
"It was too dark and if I did I don't remember at all."
