Chapter 8

I wake up with a smile on my face that was probably from a wonderful dream. I do my morning routine and go to school. Today was a Friday so it meant that I could sleep late today without worrying about anything in my life. I quickly go to my locker to get some certain notebooks that I need for my upcoming classes, but as soon as I open my locker a note falls down. It was from Kate it said,

"Hey I didnt know you had a boyfriend. Why didnt you tell me? Probs because I wasnt online on facebook. Lol anyways Love ya Lots!!"

I smile at the note and I decide to look for Kate. I finally see her. She was wearing a plaid polo shirt with some pants and sneakers. I ask her if she could go to the movies with us and she said yes in excitement. We walk around the hallway for a few minutes waiting for Ash. I feel someone tapping me on my shoulder and it was him.

"Ooooh look at the new couple" Kate shouts out

Suddenly everything goes silent and all the people walking the hallways just stared at us and a minute later they returned to their own monkey businesses.

"Why the heck did you do that?" I tell Kate

"Atleast we are gonna be considered as a couple" Ash says smirking

"I did it because I dunno" Kate says

"WTF?" I say "What if my dad knows about it!!"

"Sorry...it wasnt my fault everybody looked at you" Kate says

"Whatever" I say

Ash and Kate hold my hands as we walk to class. Kate and I have the same class together so it means I am gonna be spending more time with my bestie than Ash.

Our class was History and we talked about the presidents of America and the boston tea party. Our next class was Spanish and yes im taking Spanish class. Ummm all I remembered was Hola because of Dora and dont judge me if I am still watching Dora. Mom was the main reason I watch Dora until now because she always pretended like she was Boots, Liz was the backpack, and I was Dora. We would venture around the woods if mom had some spare time and if dad had spare time he would be Swiper the fox.

As I think of that moment I feel tears forming in my eyes but I managed to hold them back because our Spanish teacher was asking me a question.

"Ms. Samuels what is the spanish of friend?" She asks

I dont know because I was daydreaming of us being Dora. O just think of the spanish words Dora says...um adiós...hola..amigo?

"Amigo?" I say

"You are correct Ms. Samuels now lets move on to the more difficult words..." My teacher says

I take a notebook and copy all the things that the teacher wrote on the chalkboard when I was daydreaming. I write words like como estas, amigo, hola, adios, bueno, and other random spanish words.

Suddenly my head hurt and everything feels numb. I put my hand on my forehead and yes I was hot. I took my handmirror and I checked my face if anything was pale and almost everything was pale. I try taking Kate's attention by saying hey all over again but she couldnt hear me so I just tapped her shoulder and murmured

"I feel sick"

"Oh my god honey you should go home" she murmurs back "and I will come with you"

"Thanks" I whisper

"Class dismissed" the teacher says

Kate and I leave the room and we go to the school nurse to check my exact temperature and it was 38.5 so it meant I did have a fever. Kate tests her temperature aswell and hers was just normal, but she made fake excuse that her head hurt so she could go home with me.

We leave the school and Kate goes to my house. Good thing I had keys because if I didnt have keys we would be staying nowhere. Kate takes a quick trip to Starbucks which was just right around the corner as I lay in bed with an icepack on my forehead. Suddenly someone calls me and it was Ash

Ash: Hey I heard you got sick

Me: Yeah I did

Ash: Well get well, are you gonna be able to come tomorrow?

Me: Yeah, this is just typical, this always happens when I daydream about mom, I get pretty traumatized

Ash: You need someone to comfort you, is Kate there?

Me: Yeah

Ash: That's good, I'll stop by there after school, because I was supposed to be giving you a present but you got sick, so I will just give it to you later

Me: Okay see you then

-hangs up the call-

I hear the door slam shut. It was probably Kate, and my guess was right it was her holding two Starbucks frappuccinos.
