EVAN'S POV
If I had to explain what I'm feeling in word...I would choose the word saudade- a feeling of longing, melancholy, or nostalgia. A year has passed since Ziska's death. Her death stated at a suicide and also because of the note in her phone she left on her phone. I know she didn't commit suicide. They gave the phone to me and I read it last year. I still remember the pain back then vividly. I cried so hard until my voice became hoarse. I didn't have any motivation to live on for a while after that but then after thinking about her note, I found courage and motivation to live on without Ziska. If it was me, I could definitely do it and I've been doing pretty well for the past year. Of course, I still think of her everyday, every second, and everything I do reminds me of her. I still feel so much pain and I feel anger. But I cover it and let it pass. My father's company has been growing ever since I joined and Ashley's back in show business. I've picked up myself and decided to show Ziska what I can do.
"Sir, we have a meeting with the Burns CEO in an hour." My secretary tells me as I nod my head.
"The Burns CEO?.....Isn't he the man who tried to backstabbed Dad-I mean CEO?" I ask as she nods her head. "Hmmm, well then, let's show him he doesn't mess with us and get away with it. How dare he ask for a meeting. "
"Sir, what are you planning? We need this meeting to go well for both your reputation and the company's." She says strictly.
"The company doesn't tie me down and neither does my father." I tell her. I couldn't help but give her a grin. I take my coat and before walking out, I say "I'm free."
