Chris' POV.
Cassie's lips missed mine, and then she whispered in my ear seductively, "Don't start a game that you know you can't win." She drew back with a smirk on her face.
"I wasn't aware that we were playing a game?" Oh so we were playing a game now. Everybody knows that your boy is always up for a 'game'.
She began tidying up the sheets of paper sprawled all over the ground and stood up to leave. "Wait, where are you going?"
"It's really none of your business, but if you must know, I've got a hair appointment downtown at 6:35pm."
I really couldn't believe what I was hearing, "Uh, trust you to think that getting pampered, is more important than getting an education. We have only been here for..." I whipped out my phone to check the time, "20 minutes."
"What do you mean by 'trust me'- you don't even know me. And so? We have still got two weeks before we have to turn in the project...so no rush?" She questioned looking at me, this signalling that she required an answer. I stared at the ground.
"Yeah, no rush." I replied. "Anyways that's two weeks of you and me, together...alone. We both know that you won't be able to resist me." I said, getting my cocky facade back in action.
Whether or not they wanted to admit it, girls loved me. Ever since I became fourteen years of age, and my hormones kicked in, girls were always a special and first choice for me. Most girls would be happy if I even showed any interest in them. But no, not Cassie.
"Vice versa, you know that I don't want you." she expressed.
"Yeah, of course you don't. By the way, are you rolling to Derrick's party today?" I asked catching her gaze.
Her eyes broke away from me, "Err...I don't know."
"He is your boyfriend right?"
"Like I said, my life is none of your business-" She dictated, and with that she rushed out the library without so much of a tiny glance back.
Seriously? What is up with this girl? One minute she's complimenting me, the next she is giving me the cold shoulder.

"Michael, you really need to get a new car," I announced, sitting in the backseat of his beaten-up, battered ford. It was 7:00pm and I couldn't believe that he had actually talked Kevin and I into attending Derricks party.
Normally, us Souths did not mix with the Nothsiders, due to the amount of income our parents received. We weren't poor- we were working class. However, their society decided to label us that, just because we didn't get what we wanted by the snap of a finger: we had to work for the stuff that the privileged demanded. The only reason why Michael was friends with Derrick, was that they both played for the school football team; for this reason they both shared mutual respect for one another.
Me, well I was on the basketball with Kevin and the creative vision team.
"Are you willing to buy me another one? If not, I suggest you shut up." He retorted.
"Nahh, Chris's right," Kevin laughed, "How are you supposed to pick up girls in this piece of shit?"
Michael reached over towards Kevin and landed a thump on his upper-arm, "Haha, you got jokes, huh?" he called sarcastically.
We were now officially on the territory of the Norths. I looked out at the endless rows of wrought iron gates and expensive cars (which ranged from Range Rovers to Lamborghinis to Mercedes to Rolls Royces- and the list could go on) parked in the driveways. These people were definitely living the life. Michael parked his car and we made our way towards the mansion that Derrick owned.
