Bored, that's what you were. A very bored receptionist. It had seemed like a good idea at the time, taking the job that is. Good hours, good pay, good everything pretty much. But now the reality of the job had finally sunk in and, lets face it, you were bored as shit.

The glass door opened and you seemed to awake from your boredom induced stupor.

'H-hello?'

Raising your head and flicking your hair out of your (e/c) eyes you looked up. It was a man. His hair was light brown and his eyes were a dark hazel. The general air around him was nervous, and he was shuffling his feet. Clearly he wanted to get the interview over with.

'What's your name?'

Of course you already knew the answer, you had read the schedule after all. What else were you supposed to do? Sit here in an empty office and watch the mold on the wall fester and grow?

'Rory, Rory Williams'

Reaching out he extended a, probably slightly sweaty, hand. You took it.

'Y/N Williams....I mean Pond, I definitely mean Pond'

Not again! That is the second time this month. What is it with me and smartly dressed cute boys?

He coughed and glanced at the back wall of the office. It was covered in pictures of you and Amy in Venice one summer. That trip you'd finished your 500+ word vampire fanfiction and finally got your boss off your back. It was a good trip.

'Who's she?' He asked pointing to a smiling Amy.

'Oh, her? She's Amy Pond, my sister'

'Older, or younger?'

'Older, unfortunately'

The phone rang. Picking it up you hummed and gestured for Rory to sit down on the faded white couch that you had placed on the left-ish side of the room. This call would probably take a while, it was Mels after all. You hated long conversations with her, but alas it couldn't be helped.

'What, no!'

*static*

'Ugh, yes I suppose'

*more static*

'I'll send him in, tell your nan I said hi'

Putting the sleek black landline phone back on its stand you told him that he could go into the interview now.

'Hope you get the job'

'Yeah, me too'

He walked in and shut the blue door behind him. Sighing you sat down again and proceeded to cross off his name in your little red book. Even though your job at the hospital was boring your life had just got a tiny bit brighter. And that was good, in every way.
