Love
When I was 6, my mom explained what love was.
She told me I will mistake people for love, and it's hard to find.
But she told me when Love looked me in the eyes, I'd know.
Love and I met when we were 16.
When love walked through that door, I thought of it as nothing strange.
Love looked at me with dry, brown eyes and I didn't think he was the one for me.
But Love's eyes lit up, and I saw the way they shined.
The cloudy day couldn't hide the deep chocolate in his eyes.
The first day Love spoke to me all he said was hi...
I avoided eye contact and walked right on by.
It wasn't until he approached me with 3 simple words...
"Hi, I'm Love."
That was the first day I heard his laugh; sweet and soft, and a bit of surprise.
Love took me in, Love taught me self admiration, and how to smile when it feels like everything's down.
Love taught me to appreciate "hi"s and to be careful with "bye"s.
love was caring; romantic; and always insightful.
